A new players gripes in the current build

To start off I bought the game knowing full well that it isn't finished yet and that all of my gripes are likely to be worked on in the future. That said I do want to put my conserns out there and see if they are real concerns of just me being ignorant of the world and how it works.

1) -EDIT- Looks like mods to do this already exist, looking into them before posting links -EDIT-
Lack of system information, I understand that there are far too many systems to label all of them but a way to label system in our own maps would be amazing. The Galaxy is Huge and a way to find my way back to a system where I have a good reputation and stable work would be much appreciated after a few exploration jumps.

2)
Salvage vs Theft. I found some materials just floating out in the void and scooped them up. No one was around and no was harmed (by me at least but there was some wreckage) so i'm wondering how that was marked as Stolen the moment it entered my cargo hold. This also works back into my first point as it also would have been great to have marked a nice backwater station with a black market and no scan happy feds.

3)
Black Markets. At the moment it looks like Black markets are just for selling Illegal or Stolen goods which in and of itself isn't so bad but it would be nice to also be able to buy things in the black market. I noticed that there is already a system in place that shows what each station considers illegal it wouldn't be that much of a leap for nearby stations to sell that kind of thing as a black market good.

4)
New station same jobs. No matter what kind of government of economy each system has I keep seeing the same jobs with the same names. As things progress seeing more variety and more missions that have a connection to what is actually in the system would do a great deal more for emersion.

5) -EDIT- Learned the reasoning behind this one, I can live with star hopping now that I understand it -EDIT-
Maybe not every system jump needs to drop me in front of a star? I understand it if the system is unpopulated but any system with decent population should have some kind of nav beacon (which I have seen in a few systems). Somehow the act of dropping out of Frameshift with a Giant ball of blazing death directly in front of you loses its thrill after the hundredth time you do it.

All of that said I absolutely love what there is to do so far and asw soon as this is posted i'm probably going to go back to finding some paying work that I can stomach out in the backwater systems i've managed to get lost in.

Some good points OP but it all looks like this is how things going to stay. It was like that in beta, gamma and now FD will need to focus on xbox port. I would not raise my hopes up.

Oh I know it won't come soon or maybe not from the devs themselves. But placing personal notes on systems could be done in a UI Mod that does not affect overall gameplay

I'd love an in-game way of making annotations on my charts. Until that happens (if it ever does), I keep notes. One other thing you could do would be to keep a Sidewinder at a station you know you want to return to frequently. That way, it will show up with an icon in the Galaxy Map, and you can also see it in your Stored Ships screen.

It's fairly certain that the black markets are going to see some additional functionality in the future. I don't know if there's been any specific word from above on what kind of new functions we might see, but the structure of the menu suggests that eventually there will be more options than "I want to sell illegals goods."

This goes back to how hyperspace works. You're not jumping to any beacon—your course is plotted against the largest mass in the target system, as that is the only thing the frameshift drive can detect. I would imagine it's hard enough to hit a comparatively tiny target 15 light-years away. Trying to hit a body orbiting around that star would be much more difficult.

The nav beacons themselves apparently contain information about stations in the system—they are why you immediately have information about stations, even if you have no data about the planets they're orbiting. They're for in-system navigation, not necessarily interstellar navigation.

Hmm

1 - Pen and notepad OR use a tool like Slopeys BPC where you can log your own notes on systems and it keeps a log of where you have been. (I am assuming you know how to use the find/plot route system in the galaxy map.).

2 - I understand your frustration with this and they might broaden this mechanic at some point. As for highlighting black markets, well now that would make any system authority types jobs too easy wouldn't it (plus make the game to easy).

3 - Certain 'black box' items are not for sale anywhere and illegal everywhere (ie rebel transmissions). Typically black markets buy low and sell very high, easier just to find a station that sells the stuff legally.

4 - Yep, again I see your point. But ultimately there are only so many things that are practical. What would be your suggestions to add variety?

5 - Generally the Star is the biggest mass in the system and would therefore make the most logical navigation lock point. Also, if you could just jump to the station you wanted it takes another part of the game mechanic away - again making the game easier.

1 & 2 - BPC sounds like exactly what I want for both situations to be able to annotate it too my maps when I find them

3 - I just feel like black markets really need to be more than they are

4 - Not sure as of yet , but I will try think of some as I play more

5 - I wasn't aware of the lore / science reason behind it but now that I am I can cross that one off

A decent idea but it's going to be a while before I can afford to just buy ships and use them as waymarkers.

This Is the truth.

Providing ED doesn't bomb on xbone it could become the primary focus for FD rather than the pc version.
Gotta go where the money is.

If they didn't have bigger plans for black markets, then they would have just called them "Fences".... Places to sell stolen goods.

Black MARKETS are supposed to be places to both purchase and sell illegal/contraband items....
