A Nice Quiet Place To Call Home...

Sol. I was born there, you know.

Not that I go often but I keep checking to see if the clocks are right. I reckon that Earth's clock is about 8 hours fast.

Shinrarta because I have the KS pass to get there, so my ships (both of 'em) are stored there. When I'm exploring, I hang out at Kumbaya which is "up" from civilised space and have a sing-song around the K-type campfire. :)

Orang for me plenty of nice trade routes and an excellent RES about 8 LY away that has never failed to be a big ship spawner worth 3-4 million an hour in a python

Back when I played the game, my home system was Regulus.

Has great outfitting and over a dozen ships in the shipyard to buy. You can pretty much max out your ship there if you want. The only catch is that the station is over 2,000 light seconds from the star, so it takes a couple minutes to go back and forth.

Never once saw anyone else there when I played open.

Its probably the most beautiful inhabited system in the game imo.

"My home system just happens to be Diso, and if y'all just passing through on your way to some other big chunk of nothing you're welcome to call in anytime. Bring money. That's very important, no, I'm not kidding - the local economy needs it and I make a considerable percentage for the "station operating fund" so give generously or the guys down in the customs area may be forced to give your ship a prolonged scan for anything that arouses my interest if you get my meaning? Some of those big ships ... the scan can take DAYS! Good, glad we've got that unpleasant business out of the way ... so if you're passing through the Diso system, be sure to drop by and if you're within 2AU of Longhaul Outpost and are met by a couple of Vipers who want you to stop for a "routine hull integrity check" you are best advised to follow them back to the station or accidents happen ... you never know, one of them might peel off and the next thing you know, your hull might just rupture - it's been known to happen and just when you don't see it coming."

As my alter ego, Berihn has proven the well-heeled pirate is now operating out of established, well-defended bases and has a considerable interest in passing traffic. One benefit of LHO is that piracy has more or less been eradicated from the Diso system, although traffic, which does stop at the station, is seldom molested or otherwise interfered with after berthing there.

Chimiri, or arguably LTT 7488. Both rather nice systems next to each other.

I'm currently off out exploring but I'll be back at some point I'm sure.

I tend to spend my time between Alioth and Lave. Sometime I go back to Fed space going from Sol to Eta Cassiopeia when I'm doing military work but my ships are parked at Alioth.

though I have been known to troll Sifjar from time to time :)

Fusang, federation system. Good for hunting, the station is really close to the RES, high tech so almost anything is avaliable in the shop.
Drawbacks: far away from alliance and empire (takes a while to collect your money there) and i lose reputation with the federation while hunting pirates, but the money is worth it.
And the last drawback: no FdL in the shop...

Lulunguni, Federation allied, good RES there around Lulunguni 12 and a couple of Independent stations in case I accidentally misfire on Security.

Thinking I might move to Wailtsu, enjoy the system layout... not sure if there are any RES there or not though, didn't stay long enough to look while exploring last night.

I sold my all my weapons and it did increase my jump range, however in this system it's increasingly frustrating not being able to get leave. All the branching systems all have 'dead ends' where my ship just cant make a 10.2 LY jump to the next closest system. This is NOT a good experience for a new player starting out.

10 ly is more than enough for you to connect to another system. Check your galaxy map in Options and find the key to pan out. Use that key when in the galaxy map and you'll find more stars to jump too.

Had the same problem when I began thinking I could only travel as far as I saw stars, but after finding the keys to navigate the galaxy map, found all the stars needed.

You can get that Sidewinder equipped to jump over 17 ly with little effort to travel anywhere but the deepest space.
