Powerplay Faction: Aisling Duval A not very brief intro to AD BGS.

Hello Commanders!
I've worked with the AD BGS team and updated the BGS guide to reflect changes in 2.1/1.6. As always, BGS is an evolving aspect of the game and we strive to stay on top of the changes. We only want to bring you aspects of the BGS we understand and know work - there's a lot of old or outright false information out there.
In addition to the guide, I put together a video about some of the basics. Somehow everything involved in BGS becomes a long and complex process so even the "basics" take me about 20 minutes to explain. Please forgive my long winded tendencies.
Here's a link to the guide.

Good Video. Watched most of it.

I am still pledged to Aisling but do not do Powerplay anymore. However I do play the BGS.
So is there a System you can Point me to to change?
I might do that.

Hey, sorry to just get back to you! IRL gets busy for me this time of year.

As far as systems go, you're always welcome in and around Munshin where PL (the player group I work with) is active. I'd say take a look at our control systems that need to be fortified turn after turn. Those are the ones that the BGS team is prioritizing because reducing those triggers is most helpful. Also, our further out control systems are the most costly. Kerthaje and Chankates are two recent additions which will need some friendly Cooperative, Confederacy, and Communist governments in their control spheres.

Thanks for the offer of help! Also, a lot of the AD folks coordinate on the Aisling Duval Slack and on the Aisling Duval subreddit page. You may already be on those services but feel free to say hello or add me as a friend.

Fly Free,
CMDR Quade

No worry I found something to do. :)
I figured that the outer Systems requires BGS suppport and so I am active there. However I am rethinking that Strategie a bit because the more CC the more Expansion is done which is wrong. A solid core is more important. I will certainly fly through Mushin soon and fly the one or the other Mission for your PL faction.
I registered on AD Slack and was on for maybe an hour but it was quite there so I doubt that I will be often to find there.
Anyway thanks for your Video and this post.
See you in space once maybe.

Thanks for the heads up! I am not sure what went wrong with the old link but I have repaired the issue. It should be working now.

What about Patronage factions ? I noticed many guides talk about some player factions being cooperatives, but end up being Patronage (such as The Prismatic Imperium in Cubeo) will this be fixed someday or are they doomed forever ? (what I understand about this matter come from this post : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...e-factions-to-their-originally-intended-state)

I see the wiki has two different Patronage governement for the Empire, can someone explain to me the actual difference and how it transcribe in the BSG for AD ?

Sorry for those "noob questions", it felt the right place to ask :)

When you say BGS for AD, do you mean BGS in support of AD powerplay?

I made this ages ago to highlight the affect of BGS on AD powerplay (or for any power. the graph is universal).

There are government types that are favourable, neutral or unfavourable.

If more than 50% of exploited systems in a particular control system have a favourable government type they will lower the fortification thresholds by half.

Neutral will do nothing.

Unfavourable governments with double them.

Patronage is a Neutral government type.

While lowering fortification thresholds in all systems one wants to keep is a good and long term goal and will reduce the amount of effort all fortifiers have to do by half (and especially given we have a relatively high deficit (But not the highest!)), relatively, It's not really too much effort to fortify the systems needed to stay afloat. (about 20+ Rank 5 CMDRs)

While it's fortification may only require about 25 CMDRs or so CMDRs, it's still a worthwhile endeavour because that number could be halved to 13 CMDRs. Reducing the work our fortifiers do is generally a good thing.

so far we have 6 systems that have lowered fortification thresholds.

When you talk about deficit, are you referring to the CC balance of a faction ? (For exemple, Zachary Hudson currently being the worse deficit ?) Or a faction specific hidden value influencing the CP cost/earn rate ?

The deficit refers to the CC balance of a power.

The one with the worst deficit, currently is... Arissa Lavigny Duval... oh i guess Aisling is 3rd then if Zachary is 2nd.

It's not a hidden value but it does have to be calculated from the numbers they give.

Surplus/Deficit = Total Income - Total Upkeep - Total Overheads.

Sorry folks! I've been a bit busy IRL and will be adding/modifying the guide with some of the suggestions here. Thanks for reading and gl out there.
