Something I only noticed yesterday, and might be useful to others: asteroid bases might not show up on your contacts tab if you have asteroid clusters filtered out. The reason is that many bases are tied to the clusters, so they won't show up on their own.
So if you're looking for these, you might want to reset that filter.
Granted, all the 32 deep space asteroid bases mentioned in the patch log have been found, although I wouldn't put it past FD to have added some more. These ones do show up on the galaxy map as inhabited systems, hence why they were all found pretty quick during the beta.
