A Positive thread: Combat now is wow.

I have not done any combat for a while, i took a break from the game (a week or so) just did exploring in the last beta 1.1 patch, but now decided to buy back my Python and rank up with the factions via missions.
As this involves a bit of combat, i have seen big changes from last time i played any combat.
Sure my Python handles the Cobra and below ships just like it should, but they are harder, smarter even.
My last 2 battles were both Anaconda's (NPC) the first i happened upon and he attacked me first, was dangerous rank i think, this took me some time, even though i did not loose shields completely, or take any damage, but was fun, a good fight, and longer lasting.
My last one to complete a mission was an Elite Anaconda, well that was tough, lasted ages, my shields lost completely a few times, i had to boost off to re charge a few times, i had to use chaff, he actually fired missiles at me, i had to use shield cells often, i had to thrust/straffe, turn, try stay on his tail, manage my heat, use the right weapon at the right time, yes i eventually won, but boy was he tough compared to earlier times. In other words i fought an NPC and i had to think, and keep my wits about me.
hats off to the dev's, especially Sarah for the improved AI, wow i actually had fun today. Keep up the good work.
And sarah, docking is much improved at outposts with the Python too.
 
Yeah i'm loving it too.

Here's a trick for you. When facing an elite anaconda they will fire missiles at you in the 4-6km range. stay in this range in FA off mode and shoot down his missiles until he runs out of them. It takes a while but it makes the fight easier.
