A possible solution to long waits for docking?

Small stations with three or five docks can lead to boring waits or immersion breaking trips to solo space to dock.

I noticed that on these stations you are brought down into a single cradle.

With a slightly different animation each small pad could take 4 ships in a plus sign config, and maybe 2 ships on a medium pad.

Thoughts.

I agree with regards to solo mode. On the first day of Gamma I could not dock at all without going into Solo mode. Some king of queuing system would be highly desirable in those instances but Solo will get you out of a hole if you need to dock in a hurry.

if you want immersion, wait for a free docking pad

if you want gaming quick and easy, go solo mode dock sell launch and back to open

And if you want real immersion, strap a stick of dynomite to your back and have it set up so if your ship explodes... or have some industrial lasers set up to shoot at the screen every time you press the fire button...

A simple queue would do for me, so you know where you stand and don't have to keep requesting docking over and over again worrying that someone else will beat you to the next free pad.

I think the answer you're looking for is a nice queuing system. But that isn't in the game so anything other than waiting will get you flak from the nutters.

This, so much.

But I do agree that the hangar configuration *does* lend itself to multiple ship hangars served by one surface pad. However, we can't know what the developers plan and a huge ammount of people here take any suggestion as a personal offence and attack on the game, so let's wait and see.
