I for one ABSOLUTELY HATE this change. The NPCs have been toned down so much they are literally worse than PP1.First off, I'm thankful that the NPC aggression has been turned down in powerplay outside of stronghold systems. This, however, leads me to the crux of my suggestion.
I can understand exempting engineer bases from some PP NPCs certainly- but in the system itself? No.As I was going through the powerplay map, I noticed Leesti is a stronghold for Edmund Mahon. It also happens to be the home of engineer Didi Vaterman, the only source for G5 shield booster engineering in the Bubble. No other engineer system that I saw was a stronghold, but that still seems like an oversight to me. Would it be possible to make systems with engineers exempt from the possibility of becoming strongholds? I don't think anyone should have to flee system authorities (unless they've been comitting crimes) just to get some engineering done. Perhaps you could even make it a story event where the Pilot's Federation negotiates an Engineer's Truce between the powers so that engineer systems remain free for the peaceful use of all commanders regardless of pledge.
Okay. I had just seen how overtuned the aggression seemed on the test server and thought it would be like that at the engineer sites.Just to update - went to that Engineer site, where I am apparently HOSTILE. No interdictions. When I dropped in normal space 2 PP ships turned up - didn't scan me and just flew away. No NPCs when I dropped in normal space near the base. Zero issues docking at the engineer. Completely safe, no issues.
Basically zero difference to how it was before I pledged.
