A question about complaining

Back in the heady days of Horizons, I always noticed a lot of people in these forums complaining about having to pay extra on top of the original game for Horizons, and any and all future expansions.

Then David Braben announced Frontier would be dropping this business model, meaning that people wouldn't be forced to pay for future game expansions. He didn't say what the new model would be, but it's safe to assume it's what they're doing in the store.

Anyway, when this happened, I did notice that people stopped complaining about having to pay extra money for expansions.

However... I've also not seen a single player who owns the "Lifetime Expansion Pass" complaining that they've now over-paid.

I think you might have got this wrong. Impression I got was new content will be micro DLC that you pay for. The lifetime pass CMDRs will get this as part of their lifetime pass.

Damnit... there's always one :(

I can't see how that would work, ultimately it would lead to X versions of the game in use at any one time.

That thread says what? Nothing.

As Tj says "I personally backed the game to be made and the LTE was a nice and very welcome bonus.

No-one outside of Frontier knows what the new model will be and we'll just have to wait and see what our position is when that announcement is made."

So you mean like the current 4 versions. ED players fly fine with Horizon.

I think you are just looking to bash something thats not there to bash. After speaking to the devs at lavecon I'm very happy with my lifetime pass thank you :)

I have a lifetime pass too. Twas just a thought that occurred to me tonight, correctly or otherwise. :)

and I´m very desapointed whith my Horizon Comander Pack ( full pack at the time), I paid good money for a bad game always broken for some reason, game content is a mass , left a Flight Simulator that I like to play each time less and less.

I think FD quit seasons because they are unable to meet deadlines and seasons have deadlines.

That's nothing like real complaining.

I backed the game at kickstarter for £shedload and then spent more on paintjobs & gifts for friends, and I still think I got a bargain.

I put around 2 500 hours into the game and got a bit 'burnt out' and I'm having a 6 month rest while playing other stuff.

The game keeps changing and, when I return, I'm gonna have a new game to learn - this time with added Thargoids :D

It's quiet at the moment because the Alien thing is pretty excellent and amazing and also the PS4 players have come in with much praise and wow at the game.

Leaves the grumpy people with not much to go on. They'll be back when things quieten down I'm sure... :)

I couldn't care less about the payment model, to be honest. I just like playing ED and want to buy more content when it's available, Frontier can figure out how they want to sell it to me.

This

And I have spent, and will continue to spend, lots in the store as my ongoing contribution to the dev of the game as I missed out on the KS.

Nobody believes what you believe. You seem to think that substantial paid expansions for Elite are "over," which is not something that has been announced in any official capacity, and is kind of a logical stretch to be inferring at this point. If people believed this to be the case, yeah a lot of them would flip out. People aren't complaining because none of them have enough information to decide if they've been ripped off or not.

Spot on, it's only a change of delivery model.
And i will clap my hands every time a publisher drops season passes.
Sadly not much clapping to do these days.
Looking forward to see what they come up with.
