A question about exploration data and minor faction influence...

I've been out chooglin' through the galaxy, and my ship's computer is brimming with exploration data, but the specific minor faction I want to improve my relations with doesn't own a station! Is there still a way I can turn in my exploration data to them? I haven't been back since 1.3 and all the mission upgrades took place, so perhaps there's an avenue there I'm not aware of.

Anyways, any help from you fine forum folk would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks in advance!

Lembava has a CG going on for exploration data. Top 5% pays a cool 15m cr, if you have been out a while exploring you should jump to the top of the pile quite easily. Goldstein Dock if interested. Can't really help with your specific problem though sorry :)

Unfortunately Exploration Data only works if your Faction at least owns an Outpost.
Typically, Outposts without Commodity Market are the primary targets for delivering Exploration Data to boost Influence, short of grinding Bulletin Missions for them. Until Influence reaches something like ~50%, 2M Cr worth of Map Data makes for ~1% Influence (same as Trade-in profits).

So when it comes to Map Data sales, they won't help you with a Faction without an Outpost...

The Bulletin Missions unfortunately only use your Explorer rank to send you off grabbing illegal goods from some next-door System.
Someone amongst the responsible Devs apparently made a connection between Explorers swarming 1000's of LY - and Smugglers hopping into USS to grab Cargo Canisters http://www.falconfly.de/img/chatt.gif

Thus, there's no "Sell us X Maps" or actually any Exploration Bulletin Mission you could use.

So Station- and Outpost-less Factions remain only supportable through conventional Bulletin Missions - as it always has been. Still no way to "volunteer" to specifically support a Faction that lacks a Station/Outpost.

Damn :( I don't suppose the devs have said anything about changing this, have they? Seems like a pretty serious problem for us explorer-types...

Oh, and thanks for the responses, everybody :)
