A question about the pricing, as specified on the Twitch stream

Do I understand correctly that basically, Elite: Dangerous is like the first part of the game and Elite: Dangerous Horizons is the second part?

And that you won't get the features of the first part (Community goals, Powerplay, CQC, Wings, etc...) If you only buy Horizons?

If it's like this, I don't know why people are mad, then its basically like WoW expansions.

It's an expansion pack. You cannot play the expansion without the core game.

Well, maybe the core game is basically how E: D was on release so version 1.0. And you get that with Horizons, if you haven't bought the core game.

All of those things are part of the core game. You can't play the expansion without the core game, so all of those things will be in for everyone.

If they sectioned out the game like that the playerbase would be even more divided. Right now I assume everyone is downloading the update whether they bought it or not, but planetary landings and associated content will be restricted for use to those who bought the expansion - that way you're still in the same universe with those players. Cutting out core features like CGs, Powerplay, and Wings would prevent that.

as far as i understand it, EDH includes the original game too, so new players only have to buy that to get everything.
