CQC A question to CQC players regarding rank display in ED

I don't play CQC for various reasons, but I'm genuinely intrigued with a simple question: Would any of you have missed CQC rank display in EDs status page?

Would you have made a request to implement CQC rank in EDs status screen if it hadn't been there?

If so, why?

No and No. :)

This matter has been discussed in the past. There was a request when CQC was in beta, to remove the rank from the main screen. Personally i'm in favour of that. It seems as if you're playing an adventure game and you are shown your character's status in an arcade being played inside the adventure. It's just a secondary thing, shouldn't be in the front page.

no it shouldnt be there....its almost like having a brad pitt,and after wiping time.....carrying around the soiled tissue afterwards....

Mine is Semi-Professional so I don't mind, but if it was 0, or under 5%, then it should be an option to hide it.

It does seem out of place, a bit of an eyesore really. I guess it's there to try to embarrass people into playing CQC - it sure needs more players to make matchmaking better imo. I haven't played CQC in about a week, purely cos it takes forever to get a game. Having said that, my status screen proudly boasts that I am a professional so I will probably leave it there until some fixes with the matchmaking are made :)

i'm not complaining (well - at least not in this thread) and I'm not discussing if it should be removed or not as that has been done to death already and it's pretty clear FD are adamant about keeping it.
I'm just tring to understand why it was added in the first place and if it adds anything to anyone playing CQC.

I like the CQC rank being displayed.. it is there because it is part of ED.. seriously, so much hate for an icon..
(Not to mention another stupidly long thread, arguing the same point over and over, in the making)

Hate is such a strong word - I don't like it, but already got used to ignoring it - it's quite small at 0% and dark grey in my HUD colour scheme anyway. "I'll get used to ignoring it" has been my stance on the matter since the first discussion on the issue during beta.

As I said - I'm just curios if having it adds to CQC players CQC enjoyment.

I like it, and it adds to my enjoyment, same as the other three Elite ranks. Because they measure progression of sorts in a certain aspect of the game.

My driver's license says I'm elite in baking. Is this normal or am drunk?
I'm probably drunk ;)

While I don't play CQC due to various reasons as well, I would miss my mostly helpless rank. If it wouldn't be there I wouldn't probably asking for it since it is nothing of priority for FD, however, I quite like the new rank even though I am mostly helpless haha.

My drivers license says I'm not qualified to drive an HGV. I'm writing to my MP as I have no interest in driving one of these and object to having my lack of HGV driving skills staring me in the face every time I look at my license. It's all an XB1 conspiracy due to some secret back-room deal to bring Euro Truck Simulator to the XB1. PLUS my eyesight is getting worse which is ultimate prrof they are dumbing down reality to match the XB1 graphics.

I am playing and enjoying CQC a lot, even though I was strongly opposed to it prior to release.

As it is, I am happy that the CQC rank is listed with the other ranks, but just plainly because it exists. I wouldn't have asked for a CQC rank in the first place - it's enjoyable without being rewarded a virtual rank - but since it is in the game now, I prefer having it along the other ranks.

I am not strictly against a switch to turn it off, but on the other hand I don't see why many people have issues with the rank being displayed. Does it hurt a players ED self esteem in any way to have a low rank in some activity one doesn't partake in and doesn't care about?

It is not part of the elite dangerous world, it is part of the xbox one world. I play pc.

No, I wouldn't have requested the addition of Iridium as a tradiing comodity if it wasn't there either, but I generally prefer more things than less, even if I can choose to ignore some. I think generally there should be more measures (such as mining as a rank). Lore wise if the Pilots Federation believe the simulation is an accuarte enough measure of combat prowess to accept a high ranking CQC player into their ranks on that alone then it should definately count as a front page pilot measure.
