Many years ago I worked for Firebird and play-tested the ST/Amiga conversions of the original Elite, as well as all versions of Virus. I met David Braben a number of times during that period.
A few years later I became involved in freelance play-testing Frontier: Elite II on the Amiga when it was a Konami title. I used to send bug-reports to David Braben on a regular basis until the game was 'sold' to Gametek. I was also given the task of plotting the starchart map onto graph paper so it could be turned into that lovely full colour glossy map that came in the box.
In case anyone is interested, I have a web site which covers (amongst many other titles) the development of Elite and Virus.
If David can help me update the information on my site, I'd welcome his input!
