Greetings, one and all.
I have four accounts and am Elite in none of them. The most credits I've ever had on hand is 330 million and that's as of last week. You can't fail in making money anymore, it's everywhere. I don't exploit, I don't look for holes, I just play the game.
I've played Elite Dangerous since the month after it was publicly released. I'm in no rush to get every ship. I don't pursue every rank. I don't gather thousands of materials for Engineering. I just play the game. I went from Baron to Viscount rank and it took me by surprise when I got the notification. I was doing missions for local Empire factions and gained it just by playing the game.
For me, just playing the game is good enough. I don't see a grind, not because I'm willfully blind to it, as some pundits would suggest, but because it has no bearing on my motivations. Grinders opt to do the same thing over and over and over again, then complain about it. That's their choice, not doing that is mine. I explore, I mine, I do missions, trade, engineer, pirate NPC's, whatever takes my fancy. I'm in no rush to get anywhere because Elite never ends.
If you are unhappy with a thousand credits, you're going to be unhappy with a billion in the bank. I'll go further; if you need credits to define your game experience, you are playing the wrong game. Elite isn't Halo, or GTA5, or any other game out there. People who play Elite like other games will ultimately be disappointed.
The uncanny beauty of Elite is the way you play your game does not affect mine. Grinders only ruin their own experience.
I'd say more, but there's a Viper MK III waiting for me.
That's my opinion. Peace, out. [heart]
