A race to one million mini game. Win a gtx 7

Obviously you can't just erase your save and play but there is a way you can.

Who ever can make a million credits in the lowest time possible starting only in a sidewinder wins

buy ships, use fuel, buy Commidies, anything to get you to 32,000-35,000 tops to start,

Simply buy a SW and use only the profits it makes to progress.

You will need to record your entire session. I have tips about recording tools and compression. Just pm me. But I am sure lots of you already know.

you must show your balance and starting on solo on the start Of video with no cuts till the end.

I will ship the GTX 760 free of charge. Even international.

i want to see you guys have fun!

No cheating. I will know!

No cuts!

read carefully:

rules: has to be solo! Make sure you select solo as proof in your video.

You must show in video of you buying a stock side winder.

You can buy new ships with the profit you make from starter side winder, what ever it takes!

This will begin at 1:00pm pst may 13th

if anyone has suggestions on rules or how this could be improved please let me know.

thanks

Nice one, Commander! I would suggest running this through Frontier. They can mention that in the Newsletter and you will get more people involved. With such a short notice you may not get as many people on board.

Question about the rules: when you buy a new ship with the profits - does the price of the new ship and it's upgrades counts towards the winning million? If so, it may be difficult to judge. For the sake of simplicity I would stick to the Sidewinder only. I think it'll be more fun this way also.

Also: is any kind of activity allowed? Trading, exploration, missions, bounty hunting? I won't be taking part, just asking.

+rep for your generosity and awesome idea to keep the community busy, Commander! :)

Where do you stand on 3rd party tools? I guess you couldn't really prevent their use as someone could have their iPad or laptop open to without interrupting their play.

Also so might be an idea to set a starting station for a level playing field. Doesn't have to be a starter system (in fact would be better IMHO if it was a real backwater)

good idea, good luck!

I was thinking about making the goal pertain only to your assets. So new ships would be fine. I am rethinking this now and putting it on hold until I come up with a solid, fair experience. I wish we could have a bank to store credits. or at least a simulation instance to start from zero without having to wipe save. The instance would have no connection to main account nor its profit. Purely for fun and practice. Again this goal would be done in solo. It's mearely for fun and can't wait to participate myself.

Should you really be taking part yourself, in a competition you are running? What happens if you "happen" to win it?

Also, is it a brand new graphics card?

Nice idea. I would suggest you run it passed Frontier first though.

Doesn't require FDs permission to run a community competition.

Advising them that you're going to do this however could get a mention in the news letter, so if that's what you meant fair enough :)

I don't know if my HD can handle the time it would take to earn 1 million in a sidewinder.

Why store our entire assets in ships? If everything is recorded, you can tell when 1 million is reached in that starting sidewinder.

Screenshot of starting balance, and then you may never drop below that.

And why exactly restrict this to solo mode?

Cool idea, would actually be a great idea for a mini-game 'mission' you could take somewhere in the galaxy. Have to beat a certain time or something to get a bigger and bigger reward the fast you can get it. Perhaps on taking the mission it also freezes your assets till you finish so you cant use funds you already have. Brain fart over.. lol

Get a million in bounties. Buy sidewinder. Sell bounties. Win.
Contribute to CG. Buy sidewinder. Collect tier reward. Win.
Do a bunch of assassination missions. Buy sidewinder. Turn in. Win.

Not against the rules.

That aside, I feel whoever finds a conda RES instance the fastest wins. I would expect this to be completed within an hour.

E-geared sidewinder vs Anaconda? I'd be surprised if that went this well. Certainly the winner would be a bounty hunter, but probably not that fast.

I'm running one as well. :)

Wasn't suggesting you had to get FDs permission, only that it might be wise to anyway.

My concern would be how you would be able to authenticate whether someone stayed in solo.

Hey Guys,

the card is new but it came out of a ASUS computer that was purchased and replaced by a better card.

It doesn't have a box but has never been used. It's a GTX 760 192bit- 3GB5.

I need some time to figure the rules and how this is going to work. It was kind of ambitious and bit off more than I can chew I think.

If anyone has any suggestions on how this goal should operate please let me know. I am up for ideas.

I will be back as soon as i figure this out!
