A salute to the community!

I just wanted to mention this.

Ive not been into the beta as much as id hoped (summer is short up here and I need to capitalize on our unusual hot weather!) and in general im new to Elite as a whole.

But i scan the forums at least once a day, trying to keep up to date, and throw in a comment every now and then.
But it occured to me just how funny, friendly and mature this forum/community is.
The recent increase of players voicing their opinions have lead to some topics that occationally leads to whining, trolling and what not, but mostly its friendly and reasonable posts between even those who disagree the most.

And I smile more often then not going through various posts and threads around here.


So, while we should all praise and raise FD for the wonderful effort they are putting into what will be an amazing game, THIS however is a praise not to them but to the community. You all who make this board a joy to read!

Keep up and WATCH out because rain is heading this way and when that hits, ill be back inside, drinking coffee and go about my hostile trading!

yeah, those are players i would like to play in the same universe and that makes ED even more exciting, FD achieved in bringing together backbone of 30 year old elite players and they are not your regular gamers at all

Hey its a fair point dude. There is much conflict here over certain issues but on the whole its been a great forum. I hope when all the masses arrive Frontier can maintain the forums as many have grown to like them.

Credit to the mods.. they do a difficult and thankless task.

Maintaining the forum a mature and friendly place is more the responsibility of the members than of FD or the moderators.
We who are here now must see to it that we keep a civil and helpful tone towards everyone.
When new members come here, it is important that they are greeted and met with a mature and respectful attitude. It rubs off!

I agree. I've only just registered for this forum, but have been reading regularly over the past couple of months and most members seem to be very supportive of each other even when they have opposing views. Seems like a good crowd and I look forward to being a more active part of this once I get my hands on the beta.

One thing that does amaze/astound me in equal measure is taking a quick peek into the International Forum. All those nationalities, with E D as the common focal point.

Makes ya proud to be British... (Scots, Welsh) Autrailian, Canadian, American, Kiwi's, Irish etc...

Greek, Polish, Russian, German, Spanish, Finnish, Slovakian, Italian, Portuguese, Scandanavian, Dutch, French, Romanian, Croatian, Hungarian....

There's even a Chinese Thread in there now.
