A serious question this time!

I just recently bought a Type 6 from my viper. Now I am trading tying to get some of the good ships. Has anyone else felt combat withdrawal from moving from combat to trading, or is it only me? :(

I kept my eagle when I bought a type-6, so I could switch out when I felt like combat. Maybe you should think about getting a combat ship as a secondary?

They aren't mutually exclusive. Either run two ships, a dedicated trader and a dedicated fighter... or run a multi-roll ship that can do both. I go back and forth every few days.

If you're really desparate, there's always the training missions.

Otherwise, as long as the type-6 has its cargo maxed out, one decent trading session should make enough for you to buy an eagle at least, and be able to outfit it decently.

I felt a serious combat withdrawal half way to Sagittarius A*.

So I dropped in to a ring and drifted around asteroids like mentally damaged. It was awesome. Although agree that an independent witness would call it something else.

When you get that vulture you will be happy to have gotten it sooner with more upgrades because you did trading.
Everyone bashes trading but there is not an anaconda owner around that doesn't in some way thank trading for making it possible.
if you want to make trading less boring go exploring for a week, when you come back you will be so happy to trade you will doubt your sanity.

Ive tried trading but found it so boring. For me the best solution was to run rares in cobra and stop of a navs on journey to break it up.

Then went to asp rather than t6. This time the rare route took longer but the end payout was much bigger. Then tried trading in t 7 lasted about a week. Bought vulture. This is when the money for fun came in. Got 30 mill quite quickly sometime 2 mill and hour in res.

Sold asp and t7 for python. So can trade alittle if im going between stations. Bh is awsome in it.

So yes cant go without combat.

Fleet of ships

Fighter and trader, the trader improves the fighter. I can see with 1.3 there will be a Miner as well

If I have a short period to play the game I'm in the fighter, if a long period the trader. And if i'm smuggling slaves its into "nighthawk", my very specialised Cobra

I did go through a phase like that , but after awhile you get use to it and dont forget you can use it to deep space explore , you will soon earn enough to own two ships

If you're really suffering from lack of combat, why not pimp out your free sidewinder for relatively little cost? Always puts a smile on my face when people realise that mine isn't the sweet innocent it first appears...:D

I find swapping between trading, fighting and exploring, depending on how I feel, makes the game more enjoyable as you're not doing the same thing over and over for days on end. Going from fighting to trading also gives my joystick hand a rest :).

It shouldn't take long in a Type-6 to save up the money for a combat ship.

I used to run both, using the cash earned from the type 6 to upgrade the viper.

Then after getting bored of the trade grind (about an hour) I'd take the viper out to my trading system and go pirate hunting
Rinse and repeat.

Then I bought an Asp.... ;)

Still got the tricked out A class viper though

I'd run a Cobra set up for trading, exploring and combat as I find focusing on one aspect of the game will lead to burn out, the type 6 is an excellent cargo ship and the Viper an excellent fighter but it's the all rounders like the Cobra and Asp that allow you to enjoy all aspects of the game.

Man, I know how you feel. I did the trade grind on maybe a 1500cr round trip route all for the vulture, I ground up to 8 mil credits (made much more off of Lugh community goal later) so I was greatly disappointed at the 20 mil price tag, however when it became 4 mil credits I had enough for upgrades and then the Lugh conflict boosted me up greatly. So my tip to you, don't go insane with the trading if you are deadest on a ship, fine but no reason to be bored to death while doing it.
