Here is a little something I got excited about and got into tinkering for a bit with my almost 5 year old son.
So, welcome and meet my new co-pilot in training introducing his new ship named "Watsue" that we just built for him.
The idea started about 48 hours ago when we were playing some space adventuring all around the neighborhood and the sofa had been converted as a Plutoan high kings castle with space ports included.
A decision and a salvaged broken down kids desk/shelf and the building can start.
Of course we did use up a lot of energy chasing around the pink skinned martian baddies that had escaped the dungeons of the Plutoan high king so we became a tad hungry so we had to go to the local space bar to get some Cthulhu inspired meals.
After the tasty dinner we had our first test flight.
The dude is ACTUALLY flying a Sidewinder by himself with Thrustmaster 16000M stick.
At the end of day one, I got inspired to make a bit of extra for the new seemingly able pilot so I put the Gorilla Guard of the high king (which is a space ship mechanic at his spare time) to be seated as a stunt double for a few nice shots for his surprise in the morning...
LIGHTS assembly \o/
PS: Dads own pilot seat project can be glimpsed by the window, I think the priorities went quite in the correct order here
After the evenings paint job and other nice little tinkering had been done, I gave him his new approved pilots leather jacket and off we went to fly into yonder.
Mission accomplished
A new able pilot steering his new ship with mind boggling happiness that can clearly be seen in this last shot.

Footnote and query for the Frontier development.
I would love to have a way to get real time info from the game about the deployement, engine powers, shield hits, weapons firing etc since I'd love to make the lights in my sons new ship interactive as well...
PS: Yes the computer you see below the TV is a working MSX Sony HitBit that is connected to the TV, though I'm a bit sad since I've not found the Elite game for that yet
