With mining being the go to at the moment (and with it given a huge and welcome boost gameplay wise) it would be great to see some crashed / abandoned ships as we do sometimes on planets. potentially a little weak distress beacon which would let you know when you're *near* one to add a fun game of cat and mouse. and maybe some items left in cargo (or a pirate trap??)

+1, fully support most of these but especially
Fire Groups
Cycling through non-combat groupings during combat is a pain in the rear and needs fixing.
 
Passenger Missions - This might take a bit of work. However, if this is implemented, I would ask for it to be extended to other missions as well.

Route Plotter - The traveling salesman problem comes to mind. This would take a LOT of work or a LOT of processing power.

Orbital Cruise - This would be a nice QoL feature. Personally, I would rarely use it, but it would still be nice to have.

Public/Squadron Beacon - I would think that this wouldn't be too hard to implement. You could even build this off the existing wing beacon toggle.

Firegroups - I haven't really had this problem but I can see why it would be annoying. Switching modes to set up firegroups for each mode would probably be preferable to the current setup.

Shipyard Rebuy - Definitely a good idea. +1 from me.

Codex System Distances - Another excellent idea. +1 from me.

FSS Scan Distance - This would be especially nice for signal sources. +1 from me.

Discovered/Mapped in Nav Panel - I believe that planets will not show up unless you have discovered them (if possible), although I may be wrong here. An indicator for mapped bodies would be nice though.

SRV Names - I don't really see the need for this, but I would ask that it be extended to SLFs too.

Abandoned Ships - MOAR GAMEPLAY!! I LIKE MOAR GAMEPLAY!!! Salvage gameplay needs some love

Distress Beacon - I'd be down for this. Why hunt for pirates when you can get them to come to you?

Yeah I'm sure it would be a tough one to get in there, but very handy for an at a glance knowledge of "oh, I should pick that up too". Hadn't thought about other missions but you're quite right

Similar, but without needing it to be a loop, apart from that exactly the same. Maybe I'm thinking the X limit should be 3 or 4 MAXIMUM. Maybe even just the ability to say "right, go from here, to here, and then to here" so the system just has to calculate the distance between each but you set the order. not the most efficient, but possibly worth it.

I've been after this with some time :D had a dinner with the lead designer last year [no -the year before now!] and this was all I talked about. poor man having to put up with my wittering.

Planet names certainly don't, they'll show up as UNKNOWN. I suppose that would act as it's own indicator you're quite right.

No huge need, I agree. This is one of those "would be nice" but depending on how tough it is to implement such a thing, would agree that it's not really needed. It does give a little more immersion and a sense of loss if you lose something you've named / had for a while etc. Like if an SLF explodes then "aaah well" but if your SLF "Raging Bobcat" bites the biscuit after 3 months touring warzones you'rea bit more cut up about it. Also would it need extra name plate purchases or would they be included in the regulars.

Salvage love would be beaut. It's an amazingly nice weirdly depresing, and not depressing, solitary little thing and I love it

Hadn't thought of using it as a trap... but that could work quite nicely :D

I have recently been thinking about how it would be nice to have additional options as part of salvage and scavenge gameplay which would give more purpose to destroyed and abandoned vessels both within space and on planetary surfaces. A few possible ideas:

- Planetary salvage/scavenging using additional SRV types or mechanoid walkers.
- Space salvage/scavenging using additional drone types or even ship launched/hanger sized vessels.
- The ability to be able to salvage intact ship modules and store in cargo until docked whereby they can either be sold or used for own purposes.
- This may include the ability to salvage rare modules such as those unlocked using technology brokers and via powerplay pledge. Such modules would be rare/varied/difficult to source to reduce the ability to farm and thus still making the original source method still the preferred option.

I think that small hanger launched ships have so much potential to be used for other disciplines in addition to combat. Hopefully this is something already being considered and under development.
