A simple ruler tool for the galaxy map.

It would help a lot to get a simple ruler tool in the galaxy map so that you can get a feel of the scale of things.

I know that Frontier is reluctant to improve the galaxy map outside of the exploration rework (probably not coming soon) but this would be a really welcome change for some players.

When zoomed out, I assume? We already get a bit of a grid pattern at other zoom levels, but the scale isn't always obvious either. But yeah, that would be very useful. Some sort of scale and distance measure that's very clear and easy to use.

there already is a ruler in the sense of a grid, I use it to measure distances for FSD boosting from neutrons and its very effective.

I also think the scale is quite obvious when you use it more often, zoomed in it also tells you what the scale is by looking as the co-ordinates on the galaxy grid, but its usually 10's(ly) 100's 1000's 10'000s depending on your zoom level

the 100 /1000 marks and 10,000 marks being thicker lines depending again on zoom level.

I wasn't aware of the grid, a little bit dumb on my part. It would still be a really useful feature when zoomed out, and sometimes when zoomed in.

I use the grid for neutron jumping. It works but when it scales from the 1k grid down to the 10ly range when your selecting stars it can be a little fiddely. I know I've idled hoped for just a bubble that projects out my range after a boost.

I just started using the grid, and while it is useful, it is finicky. What i really meant and what we really need is a simple A to B measuring tool that you can relocate. The main problem with the grid is that it cannot be relocated so that you can just draw a 1000ly line an apply it anywhere on the map.
