A small complaint about the graphics...

They've already improved on them some, and I would much rather them add the other features and content before this.

If we want to go on about graphics we can bring up how the planets look compared to Star Citizen. I played the SC demo yesterday and the Earthlike planet full of clouds that looked REAL (and not like a odd bump map like in ED) and even some animation....blew me away.

I still like ED more however and I would prefer they fixed other things first.

I don't disagree that a few graphical enhancements at some point might be nice though...but no so much that it kills performance (already have to deal with stutter even when 60+ FPS for whatever reason that FDev can't fix.

I rather like the explosions so far. I find they have a gratifying simplicity in both appearance and definately sound.

Overall I enjoy the art style of Elite Dangerous, despite some people criticising how simple things like the ships are in shape.

My only critique is that I feel as though the planetary bodies are not illuminated as expected. They appear to lack enough "glow" on their light sides and thus look flat like a simple textured sphere sometimes. Obviously planets are not light sources themselves and maybe they are mathematically lit as accurately as possible, but I would think they would cast reflected light off their surfaces better to make them more luminecent in appearance.

Maybe it's just my laymens impression of what I think should be not really being true.

its kinda funny, i raised something similair in a thread awhile ago on how beta just had a really good different look (it had totally shocked me at the time tbh).

There was a comaparison screenshot of an explosion of an anaconda from release -

vs an explosion of a cobra from the beta -
