A spinning hour glass and a pause on every jump, why?

So just this last few days I'm seeing a slight pause and a spinning hour glass every time I H-Jump. I'm also getting the hour glass popping up regularly in the SRV.

I'm in VR but haven't changed any settings and in all other respects the game seems fine.

Any ideas?

Yup. Happens now on oculus when the system instance load. For me it's not specific to Elite. Despise that, performance has been better since last year's fiasco.

Are you close to the core? I had this exact thing myself and it was purely down to the proximity to the core causing an increase in the number of stars the system needs to calculate during a jump that is responsible.

As Morgan Grimes suggests it’s proximity to the core. I also had this issue in VR the last time I was near it. Stopped happening about 5kly from the core on the way back to the bubble.
