A statement regarding Sirius Corporation and the Alliance

Greetings Commanders,

Below is a brief recording of a statement I gave at approximately 18:00 in the chambers of the Alioth Council in my capacity as the designated representative of the McCoy Spaceways Corporation. This was done primarily in response to an earlier statement given by Alliance Prime Minister Edmund Mahon regarding the Sirius-Alliance defence pact.

The recording has been edited for both brevity and to conceal some potentially sensitive details, so my apologies on that front. But without further ado:
RECORDING BEGINS

The camera is focused on a well-lit podium with a green wireframe of the Alliance logo projected onto the wall behind it. A man clad in full military-esque dress uniform, with prominent regalia and a golden sash across his torso, enters the frame and approaches the podium. He shuffles through some notes before beginning to speak.

Esteemed Councillors and Representatives,

As you all are aware, the Sirius Corporation is continuing to entangle its insidious tendrils into the security arrangements of the Alliance and her member systems. For many months we have made it known to the Alliance Assembly, via our representatives from the Leesti and Reorte systems - I'm sure many other diplomatic channels have been used as well - that we do not want them in our territory. They do not listen, so mutual efforts to curtail this threat to the Alliance's ideals, by force, are likely to be the only course of action available to us.

Therefore, I will now reveal to this Esteemed Council that for the past few weeks I have been co-ordinating, audio cuts out, with the governments of the Reorte, Leesti, Di Jian, Arimpox and GD 140 systems.

I have been successful in establishing diplomatic relations with the leadership of all involved, and have secured preliminary arrangements for a defence pact between the McCoy Spaceways Corporation and their respective governments. Part of this defence pact has already begun to take shape, as we have been providing funding, equipment and outfitting for Fleet Carrier-type vessels to the audio cuts out. The first vessel, audio cuts out was launched just under two weeks ago, and we expect audio cuts out to be launched by the end of this week, then the final carrier audio cuts out two weeks later.
The feed cuts abruptly, but can be resumed further in...
Moving forward, the full list of vessels we intend to launch is as follows:
MSV Reorte's Choice
MSV Dreams of Reorte
MSV Pride of Reorte

MSV Leesti's Vigil
MSV Honour of Leesti
MSV Pride of Leesti

MSV Arimpox' Avenger
MSV Sentry of Arimpox
MSV Pride of Arimpox

MSV Di Jian's Defender
MSV Warden of Di Jian
MSV Pride of Di Jian

MSV GD 140's Watch
MSV Sentinel of GD 140
MSV Pride of GD 140

All involved vessels use this specifically chosen naming scheme, as a hybrid of the Alliance's system pride and the McCoy Spaceways transponder prefix. Each individual name also has a powerful, relevant meaning. MSV Reorte's Choice and MSV Dreams of Reorte are prime examples, glorifying the Reorte system's bravery in standing up for what they believe in - and standing against the tyranny of Sirius Corporation.
The feed cuts abruptly once again, but can be resumed yet further in...
These vessels are provided with refuel, repair and rearm services as standard, but are under a contract forbidding their use in anti-Xeno activities. However in the event of an incursion in their staging system, they are permitted - and encouraged - to actively become involved in the evacuation of refugees from damaged starports.

The initially allocated amount of funding for our pilot scheme is audio cuts out credits, and I have been given unanimous approval from my board of directors to invest that amount and significantly more in the Alliance should there be interest outside of the presently targeted systems and governments. I invite any interested councillors or representatives to make themselves known to me should they wish to discuss the terms and conditions more closely.

Finally, I wish to apologise to the Esteemed Council and Esteemed Representatives for withholding this information from you, however it was believed to be vitally important that the formation of any agreements of this nature remained confidential due to operational security concerns.

Thank you.

The man smiles broadly and takes a few polite bows in each direction as if to acknowledge the entire audience. In the audio there's a discernible applause, intertwined with the continuing atonished gasps and whispers that began halfway into the speech. He takes a final more respectful bow and folds his arms behind his back, then moves out of frame.

RECORDING ENDS
Oh, and remember, Sirius Corporation can suck my defence pact.

Thank you for watching.
Right on, Commanders.
