A suggestion about the found escape pods out there

Well we all know that escape pods are treat as illegal goods.
How about , every escape pod we find out there , we are notified the faction that it belongs so when we return to the owning faction we get our reputation increased with the specific faction?

So many things could be done with escape pods:
- 'get this pod back to this location for this reward' (to rescue or maybe to turn in a criminal) etc.
- hirable npc for ships crew?
- take to a known location to sell as subjects for experimentation (aka Alien Resurrection)
- breadcrumbs to special in game locations.

They do seem an under developed content at present. Or maybe we're missing something.

not true for (many) escape pods that can be found on surfaces...

but yes, any mechanic beside selling them on the market, would be great - connecting it to some random minor faction and give you an reputation boost if handed in, would be great!

Perhaps it pops up with some information on the pod when you scoop or scan it?

If it's a VIP, there will be a handsome reward to bring it to a certain station. On the other hand, if it's a criminal, you would gain rep from the authorities to deliver it successfully to a penal colony. The person inside should determine the course of action!
