A suggestion for the devs

I would love to see a feature in the options that will toggle different temperature modes. Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin. In the USA we use Fahrenheit and other parts of the world either measure it in Celsius or Kelvin. It is easier to understand just how cold or warm it is when you are used to a certain one.

The 'Heat Damage' verbal warning tends to highlight any temperature mistakes I have made! That and the build up of smoke in my cockpit! :p

However, totally understand and agree on a better user experience wherever you may be from. <O

You reminded me.
If the OP is talking about the Heat Damage figure. That is not in degrees it is a percentage figure (of safe working temperature, it was said back in the day).

I was actually referring to the temperature warnings when you step out of your ship on a planet. I am not familiar with Kelvin or Celsius.
I went for a drink with them last week. A great bunch of guys. ;)
From personal experience* it is easier to go from Fahrenheit to Celsius than the other way around. I understand your annoyance.
* The UK changed to Celsius almost 50 years ago.

My bad. I can't play FPS games as they make me nauseous. :(

Love Elite, so have still bought Odyssey to support the game - just not the Alpha (as it just didn't make sense for my situation).

My hope is that Odyssey will open a little more than the runny/shooty bit, so that my purchase is more than just a 'support the game purchase' (which it does seem to be doing well with!😊).

Hope you Alpha Testers have a great time! Thank you for helping make the game better! <O

Why temperatures are meassured in K? Because that's the, scientifically defined, scale for temperatures.
I, personnally, never got it in my head, that the U.S. is still sticking to IMPERIAL scales after their Boston Tea-Party... :sneaky: ;) 🤭

Addendum: Kelvin has been chosen because 0 K is the physically minimal meassurable temperature. There is no "-x K".
"We" that meassure in Celsius are in a comfortable position to convert K to C and vice versa:
K = C + 273
C = K - 273

Sorry, that I don't bother with imperial scales as an european.

I don't play them because I suck at them.

I only have access because I am a backer. I don't expect to play the missions much just take advantage of planetary landings. But then I thought that about Elite then the graphics hooked me in.

Really enjoy the game and am happy to support Odyssey, I think it will expand the game and make it better for a lot of the community (even if I will not get the full benefit).

I also like the walkaround bits so at the least I will get to see stations, walk around my ships - and who knows what the future will bring! :)
