A Sunday drive to the Plaides

Just want to say, I had an excellent session this afternoon. Managed to get out to the Plaides for the first time. Experienced my first Black Hole and bumped into another cmdr for the first time since November.

The Black Hole was in the Maia (?) system 384K ly out, I thought it would have been more impressive TBH, but to be fair I didn't want to get too close (I got to about 3ls away before stopping). There was a nice visual approaching it where the stars reflected around it, but I was expecting a bit more Black and a bit more Hole.

Now to decide whether to head back or head up to Polaris.

Speak after me: "pleiades". ;)

I think due to gravity lens effects you might not see all to much black and hole altogether, even in reality. Maia you say? Maybe I'll go there.

On the long trip to the Maia black hole now.

Such a stunning blue star to welcome you and then the nebula cloud thickens as you had towards the dark girl.

My childhood coming to life.

Sorry, I knew it was spelt incorrectly but my iPad seemed to want to change it to 'plate me'. Should've just put Seven Sisters.

The cloud rendering in that area is fantastic. Beautiful colours. I initially headed out to the Aries Dark Region, then realised it's dark because nothing is there.
