So there I was flying my merry way round, then interdicted. I was brave so I let them win and it was a cobra, same as me. I hear him trying to lock a scan on me and I recall I had a 400 bounty from the empire on my head.
I thrust away quick to disrupt his scan and draw weapons. I have a game pad so not really too confident in combat but I recently upgraded most things to a D Class instead of E and had 4 lasers. I decide to say stuff it and open fire on this go lucky bounty hunter.
It starts it off, and we do a run past each other all guns blazing and it seem pretty even shield down. I go for a turnaround and it seems he has beat me to it but I am still committed because I notice this dude already has hull damage (must be from a previous encounter).
We face on and fire at each other on the pass, My shield go down first but his shortly follows. I am feeling confident as I pip manage my shields etc. All of a sudden I see another human player in the encounter and they both then proceed to start to tear my backside apart.
Time for a 3 pip sys and 3 pip engine, I see my health going down fast so sod it, 4 pip engine and retract weapons and do a runner.
Q = Was I a coward
or wise enough to live to fight another day. Trust me, I had to engine mange my way outta there fast or I was dead.
These gem moments are rare but they do excite me, especially when I had about 70k in cargo and ship insurance is about 50k.
God you folks whom are doing mega runs in big ships must really dread these moments.
I get a sense that people are starting to find ways to work together and I guess there will soon be group tactics involved in bounty hunting an pirating.
Wolfpack pirates are coming. We need suitable escorts to make them squirm also?
