a thought about missions

I want to start by saying I enjoy missions this post is not about bugs but more the mechanics of missions.

I think the current mechanics could provide a more progressive experience and make you feel more involved with a particular system.

Im not suggesting we get all "witcher 3" on it but something like this:

First unless there are trade missions I think it would make sense for a lot of the missions to stay in system. Playing the bgs involves one system so why send us everywhere? So the assassination missions for example could change slightly.

Instead of fly to system x scan beacon go to planet 4 drop into uss kill they could say something like "weve had a distress call from one of our pilots they have been attacked known pirate xxxx go and investigate" you drop into the mission signal source and you the mission popup saying "he took my cargo and is heading to x planet to lie low" you get a timer to catch him in supercruise and kill him. Similar to current but all in system adding to the feeling you are making a difference.

As you progress your rep you get better missions and certain missions spawn at trigger points. So if you are about to trigger civil war spawn a base assault mission that would act as the catalyst for the war. If you are triggering expansion go to the expansion system and assault the base. Or maybe spawn political leaders to assassinate.

Specific missions could be triggered by a combination of rep and influence stats.

Basically make more missions happen in system and introduce "trigger" missions that signal a change in state. These missions could be available to everyone but only if you meet the requirements.

I feel like most of the mechanics are there and this would help build your allegiance to a system instead of travelling around everywhere. That said I know 3 things about game development and im pretty sure 2 of them are wrong.

Any thoughts?
