Er was lying a timebomb under my keyboard, and was not aware of it.
Yesterday I was flying a trading route with 16 ton of Indite in my cargohold.
Each time I have to dock a rotating station, it gives me such a great feeling as watching the docking scene in the beginning of the movie 2001 space odyssey feel.
In planned this time during the alignment with the docking gate to take some great pictures and post them on twitter.
So, closing in on the starbase, I aligned myself with the gate, adjusted my rotation with the starbase rotation, got permission to dock, and started moving on a slow pace towards the gate.
I checked for a nice picture, pressed the picture button F10 and then...
I heard my board computer tell me 'ejecting cargo, ejecting cargo ...' At the same time I got a repeating message of the starbase telling me I was fined for ejecting cargo, just like a jackpot would do, but then in favour for the starbase.
I was completely bewilderd not having any clue why the hell my precious cargo was suddenly floating around me, just by taking a picture??
I canceled the docking, tried in vain to recover the cargo, but i was to nervous to scoop the 16 pieces of Indite through the tedious scoop procedure.
I ended up docked in the starbase only with 2 of 16 ton of Indite, and 30000 less on my bankaccount.
So what happened. By checking my keymapping I saw I mapped somewhere in the beta phase the F10 to eject cargo, because at that time I found that an easy key to use while trying out mining.
Because mining/scooping was not my kind a game, i left mining and forgot about that key.
Till now it seems I never took a picture with some cargo in space. I realize this forgotten key could have made even more havoc with really expensive cargo as palladium.
So before I will undock next time, i will check thouroughly if there are no other keys, still lying around waiting to create disaster.
