A Trader Begins

It's been about a week since The Pilots Federation loaned me the Sidewinder. There I was, with a galaxy of opportunities expanding before me. I had already decided I wanted to be a trader, so I began doing mundane cargo hauling contracts for the local Federation stations. Even the most basic routes still felt like adventures to me then. When I had amassed enough credits, I decided to skip the Hauler and go straight to the Adder, as I saw it was better in most ways.
I loved that ship, the coffee cup holders were an added bonus. However, I found it hard to defend myself in. I must admit I switched my allegiance a couple times, first thinking I would be neutral, then going to Hudson, then Winters, then back to Hudson. And so I stay with Hudson, loosely going back and forth from his HQ delivering supplies to his outlying systems to support them. I've been checking up on his factions orders, but all of them have seemed a little too risky for me, thus so far, it's fortifying for me.

I'm proud to say I'm not as wet behind the ears as I used to be, I know what ships to avoid, what systems and stations I shouldn't waste my time on, and piloting my ship and landing is much smoother than when I was starting out. I now fly in my Cobra Mark III with 40 cargo space, doing as many supply missions as I can, donating to charities, etc. I've been noticed by the Federation, currently I'm a Midshipman with them, and my explorer data has gained me the title of Scout.

When I'm feeling restless, I'll take my new Viper Mark III out for a spin to the local nav point and go bounty hunting. I've noticed an increase in Imperial activity in our systems, which is a bit worrying. Utopian Overseers and Shields have been harassing me on my trade runs, I wish the Federation would do something about it.

I must admit I'm questioning if the Federation is in the right in most of these situations. I began to question them after looking into their history, and after an officer insisted I deliver illegal goods in Nanomam to become a Midshipman, I knew something was up. It was the first real "illegal" thing I did, but I didn't see any other choice, so I took it, to my own shame.

I used to hang around in LHS 3447, but I've heard grave news that the system is now in turmoil. I'm rather glad I was able to escape while I could.

My bestfriend has left Federation space and joined the Empire. I am not troubled with his decision, I will try my best to not work against his leader and only bolster my faction between jobs, I have to admit I'm a bit jealous of the shiny Imperial ship he has, and I wish him all the luck, he's doing quite well for himself.

I must admit my hopes are a bit high, I'm looking to purchase a dropship of my own, and then a gunship for my bounty hunting excursions, but that is all far away credit and rank wise. I passed by Sol on one of my latest runs, I could see it twinkling in the distance, but my nav computer refused me access, as I should have known.

Well, here's to the future, maybe I can even get down on some planets soon.
Commander Logifanogi, Signing Out

(Just a quick thing I typed out before heading to sleep, it's probably not at its best, just a new Xbox player writing down his experiences. Don't know if I'll ever do any more of these, maybe if I have some good adventures and get some nice feedback. Shoutout to ObsidianAnt for his nice narrative style of videos partially making me want to do this.)
