A trip out in the verse (Exploration Finds)

I'll be sharing all awesome finds during my exploration trips in this thread; if you want to see all pictures instead of individual posts look here: http://imgur.com/a/kV8Ea#0

1st trip is below continued on this first post

2nd trip starts here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=66655&page=3&p=1176814&viewfull=1#post1176814

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After getting myself up to a Cobra Mk.III mostlty A kitted with detailed surface scanners and advanced discovery scanner I've gone out to explore the space towards the center of the Milky Way ... I'm ~1800LY out so far (out of ~20-25k it is to the galactic center so still not sure I'll make it there) but figured I'd show some of the nice things seen along the way so far:

Rings and more rings ... I need more .. always
iC6krbV.png

Better avoid these while refueling
YVZ6PKM.png
GoRC48Y.png

Ok My DK2 headset is off .. why am I still seeing double?
5Qkvmni.png

Pretty hot&dense planet considering the size of it's orbit and it's water atmosphere
0RrDlgS.png

Ok ... so here's half of a 6-ary system. That must make for some crazy day/night cycles
0heH9qH.png

An interesting world with rings
4gC9fps.png

Now this ... is a Large world
6FFGb8t.png
kzxI3S0.png

Just a normal high content metal world ... no reason to sha... wait ... what's the temperature & pressure???
VXGzUQ5.png

And the Last and my current location HD 151564

Interesting: 1O, 1B star and 2 Black Holes!
SVCqhib.png
Wait the binary Black Hole system has a planet around it?
3UNG6SL.png

O class stars live 1-10mil years? .. Yeah well I'm a boss at 346 mil and still going
EVyYgsw.png

And HD 151564 B
vz480CS.png
and HD 151564 C ... that refused to submit to scanning

Continuing exploration as we turn back towards home:

Lets visit some neutron stars .... they're a little hot
r3F7wLG.png
CIBGhDu.png

And nearby a dwarf star might need you bringing a jacket to visit it's surface
hEEojgy.png

Metal Rich worlds are nice but not sure how easy these would be to mine ...
ZmQzKNB.png
TNyxWBp.png

O type stars are nice but this was was a little crazy ... it does a full rotation in about 20 seconds
zpynPny.png

... to be fair it has some weird neighbors
yREGWjr.png
qOLl2bw.png
FOaGK6t.png
LRQFVNt.png

After jumping away and some fun refueling sights
EwrlBE9.png

Arriving at HD_148937 ... a supposedly solitary O6-class Star .... well it's not quite
PPBbLQK.jpg

Lets count the holy F's seen in that montage:
Number of stars hidden: 10 all M-class or higher
Star temperature > 100k
Highest planet temperature ~17.6k
Highest planet pressure ~655 Million atmospheres!
Metal Rich Planets: 11

I'm just guessing ... but this data will sell for a lot!

On now to Shapley 1 and the Fine Ring Nebula and then back to Alliance space to deliver this data and reap the profits!

Waoo this last system HD 148937 .. just waoo
You just created a vocation ... have to buy and fit a ship for exploration now !

Know what you mean ... when I jumped into that system and flipped the discovery scanner I had a shock also .. and as I kept exploring planets I said I just need to post this now rather than waiting till I hit the Fine Ring Nebula

Incredible discoveries . Thanks for the pics.. they're awesome!. You Sir truly deserve the title Explorer :).

O-type star doing full rotation in 20 secs? That should be impossible.

Yeah it's spin is fairly unsettling as you first drop into the system. There's a few things they should fix for the O-class stars since all of them seem to have lifetimes of over the said 10million years life.

May I ask where you got your detailed surface scanner and how much it was? I continue to be unable to find one...

Got it from BORO...smth it's a HIGH TECH Alliance world about 50LY above Tellus. Detailed surface scanner was 250k CR and the advanced discovery scanner was 1.5mil CR

Impressive findings, carazvan, especially HD 148937. I wonder, shouldn't those planets be counted as gas giants with such enormous atmospheres (they have to be with such pressures and temperatures)? Perhaps we should ticket it?

Think since they're mainly rock/metal planets with 'thin' but very dense athmospheres they're correctly classified but the issue should be to check star-forge to ensure these are the correct results they wanted.
The 2 things that should be ticketed are:
-the O-class star's rotation ... that's just too crazy
-the age of all these O-class stars that far exceed the 10mil year supposed limit

You see, atmosphere to be so dense to have such pressure it has to be enormous, not thin. And I'm not even sure if such pressures are enough to keep rock/metal from gaseous state at such plasmaforming temperatures.

So here's something fun .. just got back to TELLUS in Alliance space and before posting last trip pics I wanted to get sell worth data ... anytime I try to sell data it sits there waiting forever then tells me it cannot connect to server (tried both Open Play and Solo)

Finished the trip back home at the start of this week and since Monday I've been back in Alliance space at Tellus ... but here's the last sights along the way.

Is that supposed to be a star? ... with those characteristics?
Y7Ob3Vm.png

Now this looks more like home
that's the most earthlike-world ...
c028znL.png
... in the most sol-like system I've seen
3a6FdAa.png

No hydrogen? ... No problem
ZIqohnp.png

Lets check a red giant on the way...
Interesting it hasn't eaten all planet yet
ucJXNTn.png
... and there's actually a place to sit down and watch a large sunset
w2It7fz.png

Interesting atmosphere ...
... wondering if I'd get Metal if I fuel scooped it and had a refinery .. mining by fuel scooping?

Some worlds are so easy to identify just by looking at their system map images

Still selling the data slowly a few systems at a time (systems up to HD 148973 have now been sold so about 2/3 of the trip) and then I post a list of top10 system prices and total profit. It really shouldn't take longer to sell star data than to map it ... I hope FDev fix the system not necessarily for this data but for release on the 16th with the wipe I'm assuming will come.

Had a few really good exporing sessions... Not very well paying yet but very absorbing and highly addictive. Got an intermediate scanner and dss now so hope to set out soon and have some fun. Briiliant picking out missing bits of systems and looking at the results of your work on the system map...

Nice finds !!!
You have just beaten my records with T Tauri stars by a large margin. I hope what they look like (what their system look like) is just a placeholder because it's wrong on so many levels...
It's nice to know that Wolf-Rayet stars are in the game because I've been looking for the real ones there to no avail.

So am I to understand the 'X's in systems are black holes? If so I think I've passed a few on my way to SOL.

Overall though your pictures are fantastic! I can't wait to go on an exploration trip myself. Thanks for sharing!
