So I do freebooting for living. My ship is the cobra, bounties on my head are numerous and even the feds turned hostile towards me. My homebase is an independent system with a black market station which I plan my runs from. Usually to the nearby fed systems.
When I jump a trader I go for the hatch first to spill the juicy cargo. Every ejected container then has its countdown to destruction and the "fun" begins here. It doesn't take long before I am jumped by the viper feds. So here I am going from one container to another with my cargo scoop deployed while fed vipers are firing their fearsome arsenal at me. Cargo scoop, shield cell, cargo scoop, shield cell, rinse and repeat. I can't turn at them because by the time I dispatched them I would lose all my loot. The vipers are of course a mere annoyance even for my stock shield/plating cobra (as is almost everything in this game).
After the loot is scooped I jump into SC usually to look after more opportunities or do an occasional USS. Other players in SC just ignore me because they know interdicting me is useless (I can boost/fsd away anytime, they can't masslock me).
When I arrive at my homestation I sell all stolen cargo on black market for some average coins.
So yeah life of a pirate in Elite: Dangerous is very fun and thrilling. We live our lifes on the edge...
