A Very British launch

I really enjoyed it.

A distinct lack of 'Wooping', a great setting and an understated yet Top Gear like feel to it.

I must say the live demo at the end did make me wee my pants a little bit :D (That made me feel less British).

A jolly good show FDEV :)

Yeah really enjoyed watching the stream. very top gear indeed. :)

Erm.... did no-one else catch the fact the male presenter got David's surname wrong in the first minute of talking? I was not feeling it from that point on -.-

Jessica Chobot made up for it a bit though. She's come a long way from licking PSP's lol

Didn't notice the name wrong bit. The stand out mishap for me was the guy with the Oculus rift not really being on point with the message (I think he was possibly a bit tipsy). Made me chuckle none the less.

It was understated, which is a good thing, too many adverts/trailers showing nothing new, and the "big reveal" at the end wasn't all that either, in my opinion.
The presenters were pretty clueless, they should have at least known a bit about what they were talking about.
The best bit was the interview with the guy using the Occ Rift system. That was hilarious.
Still think the game itself is fantastic, enjoying it despite the remaining bugs and connectivity issues, but considering the hype leading up to this event it was overall disappointing with barley anything new. I'm not surprised by this, just disappointed.

Yeah I thought the same. But I don't mind because, as you say, the game is great and that's what matters.

I had the impression the target audience of the event was not us but people who haven't yet heard about ED.

Seeing Kate Russell was good, maybe she should of done the presenting. Overall a well produced live stream, but with little real content, and a bit short. Far better than any CIG (Star Citizen) live stream to date, in my opinion. Seems FD engaged the services of a real pro live stream production company.

I thought there was supposed to be a no t-shirt, Jeans and Trainers dress code at this event? I'm not having a go at anyone just making an observation. I noticed John Virgo aka Ambassador Kerrash was in a nice collar and tie for example

Btw does anyone know where I can get one of those elite dangerous ties? I'd quite happily wear one of them :D

Looked like a good do.

Didn't know Kate Russell was involved with the whole Elite thing. Can't remember the telly programme where I had seen her before?

Anyway, a Saturday night in, I away for more voddie n' coke.

Can't wait for my first bit of flying on Wednesday !

Cheers folks!

Kate Russell appears on BBC CLICK every week.

Well I just got back and I enjoyed it allot. Nice atmosphere, got to see the Devs, authors and many other Elite bods in the flesh.

And of course a free bar. Just can't believe I couldn't take advantage of it as I was driving.

Got to try the rift for the first time as well. To be fair that guy they interviewed did have a point. And to be fair to the presenter, it must be hard in a room full of geeks trying to find someone who isn't going to give you a geeky answer.

Hey I'm a colonial!!!!

Oh you meant THOSE colonials! ;)

Indeed :D There are three types of colonials but the good ones either sound like they have a small deposit of pubic hair up the nose or suddenly sound Scottish whenever 'ut' or (is it 'out'?) is part of a word.

Wow, what I have said could really be taken the wrong way. (I'm messing about, not trying to be offensive).

In the gaming/programming community, anything more than underpants could be considered 'Smart casual' ;) :D
