A veteran cmdr combat logging?!

In Open as per routine. I'm scouring my system looking for a certain faction to interdict and destroy. It's an anarchy system so all good.
I spot a cmdr in a dbx. Mmmm so I interdict him for sh*ts n giggles.
I'm in vr so I've taken my headset off after flying in front of him.
I'm typing...I'm about to hit enter having donned my headset...and blink!! He gone... logged out.
So l waited.
He came back I pursued him into sc, interdicted him again and few secs later it's over.
Now since then I've checked inara only to find the cmdr is a triple elite vet in an unarmed dbx (hindsight I shoulda checked perhaps)
But l was incensed by the clog.
I clogged once long ago and got a royal bollocking for it.
So just saying if your in open don't do it!!.
If I'd known he was unarmed I would not have fired but heat of the moment etc.

Shows the shortcomings of comms In VR.
would've been ok if we could have some sort of voice comms instead of me struggling to type (touch typing not my thing) or the clogger contacting me.
Some sort of auto chat that's toggled on or off.

thankfully there's probably not going to be anything of the sort in any kind of ground based pvp.
you're just going to get shot from a distance and then teabagged. maybe called some kind of slur in the chat.

They mlogged or clogged, and then came back? That seems odd.
Are you sure they didn't just high wake and then jump back in? With the networking as it is, you might only be sharing an instance with them for 10-15 seconds b4 they are gone.
I have been interdicted before and never had the person that interdicted me show up in my instance. I even charged my FSD and waited a bit figuring, I would throttle up, boost and insta jump, leaving me enough time to get to my destination. But they never turned up.

Thing about accusing someone of clogging is you've no idea what's happening at their side, with their internet.....could have had a genuine disconnect......the game is far from 100% stable, 100% of the time

It wasn't some sort of competitive situation right? There was nothing at stake except for some pixels going boom.

I don't think there is any need to get "incensed" about it. A tad frustrated perhaps.

I'm pretty sure the disappearing of his target did not give him much giggles. Perhaps more of the sh*ts, thus the "incensed".

OP, maybe you were 'dicting the cmdr that's opened a thread saying they 'crash to desktop when opening the System Map'?

Maybe just unlucky that this occured just as you 'dicted him..........loads of things in ED/EDO causes a game kill, not just a deliberate clog.

Strange he would relog back into open. Not sure which is worse personally, his clogging or you ganking any unarmed DBX for no other reason than s*it’s and giggles. Unarmed DBx screams exploration ship. If so he probably lost a lot of hard earned data.

Yeah alot went wrong in the heat of the moment. But that's combat for ya!! Fog of war etc.
I do have a carrier working against me trying to put corporate stooges In power.
And as hard as one cmdr can run inf missions I'm being countered. Currently 23% anarchist 23% corporate grrr. Ill not give up.
Think they're in solo.
