A voice for Salomé, a voice for Freedom

Greetings fellow CMDRs,

on behalf of the Barbera Crew, I’m making this announcement to claim responsibility for the attack to the McKeep Penal Colony that was successfully carried out on October 16th, 3302. We believe that’s the detention center where the imperials are unlawfully detaining ex-senator Kahina Tijani Loren, aka Salome, after her transfer from Achenar to the Prism system.

We grew tired of nobody doing anything to fight against the unlawful imprisonment of Salomé, nobody rose a single voice of protest in her defence, not even the famous Children of Raxxla whose she claims to be the leader. We want to know what she discovered, what the Empire is so strongly trying to silence by stripping her of her title and rights, and that’s why we organized an attack against the detention facility.

We obviously did not expect to be able to free her, but we wanted to send a signal to any free pilot in the galaxy: do not allow your voice to be silenced by the great powers that rule in the bubble! Send your message for the freedom of Salomé and the freedom of knowledge across the galaxy!

*sigh*
We know, Redden, fighting is one of the only things we can do in the game to make some noise. We've been through that in Cemiess (you may not have noticed given your comment that the CoR haven't protested). Before you lose your temper again think about what you can achieve by this. We have come to the conclusion that Admiral Patreus is waiting for such a "terrorist" move to blame Salomé and have further evidence against her in the trial. You may just have done what he wanted...

Lone wolf actions never solved anything, and all this does is harm Salome's case, not strengthen it. But thank you for making it clear that this attack was not the action of the Children of Raxxla, as that will undermine the attempts that Patreus will undoubtedly make to blame CoR for this. He will, however, use it to suggest that Salome is a danger if for no other reason than she attracts all kinds of wild behaviours and is a focus for violent insurrection. We all know she isn't, but that's the outcome of the actions of the Barbera Crew. Misguided at best, harmful, most likely. Please try to understand the political ramifications of what you have just done, and then maybe you'll understand why CoR haven't acted - as far as you are aware. And you do not seem to be aware of much...

Well done, you may have hurt Salomé's case now.

Just because the Children aren't doing anything right now does not mean we don't have a plan. It's also not like we stood in place when she was first taken in Cemiess, we planned, we protested, we wrote GalNets but nothing happened, so we mobilized. Next time, do not run with your head as a third leg into causing trouble. We will handle this.

Hey, CoR guys. Don't worry, damage control has already been done.

Check Prism local news for a publication today.

To the OP:

First,
I want to thank you for getting involved in the story of Elite Dangerous. It always puts a smile on my face when people try to influence the story in some way.

Second,
AHA!!! So you guys were the ones messing with our influence this weekend!

I submitted an article about criminal activity in Prism yesterday, and it should be available in Prism local news today. Turns out our intel was surprisingly accurate...

Third,
The Children of Raxxla have been quite active in finding means to support their leader. The Children of Raxxla protested in Cemiess and were labeled a "revolutionary organization," likened to Emperor's Dawn, and the Imperial Citizen claimed they should "should be dealt with harshly" (citation). Beyond that, the Children of Raxxla stepped in this weekend to ensure Prism is secure for Kahina's arrival, despite the heavy criminal activity over the weekend.

Fourth,
Kahina is the prime suspect in an attempted assassination plot. She is being detained accordingly, and I would add, lawfully. Criminal activity carried out in Kahina's name is probably not the best way to ensure a favorable judgement...

EDIT:

Looks like I wasn't the only one to get an article published in Prism today. :)

RPG-mode: ah! Of course CoR know nothing about this attack! We grew old waiting for something to come from them!

:) We're trying to move stuff, things have been swamped lately..

Sorry about that, nothing against the local factions :) Did you guess it was against the penal colony or were you able to tell somehow? Anyway, I *highly* doubt we caused the lockdown on our own with a single attack to the colony, we did no further to destabilize the system, since it was not the target of our action.

Ehy I was RPGing a little there, I (kinda) know CoR is doing stuff and the policy WRT this business. But Barbera Crew don't, and a month without galnets or anything still qualifies as nothing for them ;-)

Again, OP knows but the crew does not agree :)

Indeed! Good timing ;-)

Here's the album I made with the help of some CoR guys and Loren's Legion guys.

Here's the one I wanted to point out - Prism as One is now Pending Civil Unrest, Lockdown, and Civil War.

I'm not sure who all is a part of your "Barbera Crew" or if you even recognize any of Prism's current "Top 5 Bounties," but the cumulative activity seems to have been enough to tip Prism as One down that path.

Speaking of the Barbera Crew, can you tell us a little more about yourselves?

CMDR Corrigendum

none of the CMDRs you spotted, nor those in the top bounties, are part of Barbera Crew. None of us is affiliated to the federal dogs, to the empire, or the alliance: we equally despise every single one of them!

Our scope is sending a message and our targets are free pilots in the galaxy: they, *we*, have the right to know what's happening! And the so called "Superpowers" must now remember that more and more commanders will join our call for the freedom of knowledge!

It is clear there're forces bigger than us that are trying to create chaos in your system. I've little doubt either the feds or the imps themselves are behind it! And those cowards are now trying to hide their actions behind us!

RPG off: the group was born for this action. I confirm none of us attacked any other target outside the penal colony. We got around the system for quite some time in open and didn't spot any other cmdr.

Well, I salute you for attempting to push the storyline forward in the best way you know how.

RP:
Be warned, if you are intercepted by Loren's Legion patrols, you may well find yourself breaking rocks at McKee with a hammer instead of missiles... In the mean time, we have bigger fish to fry...

The Children of Raxxla echo Loren's Legion's call for restraint at this time, there may come a time and place where the use of force becomes unavoidable but is not here or now.

OT: well, fighting is not the only way we know, but given our situation we didn't have many other ways of playing it out ;-)

PS: great answer btw ;-)
