Horizons A way to retrieve exploration data..?

Last night, during selling exploration data, two times a message appears that I was the first who had discovered a certain planet/star. I assumed that such discoveries are kept somewhere in my stats, but I was wrong. Apparently this information is only stored on server side, not at the client side. Pitty, because now I don't know at what wondrous planets or stars my CMDR name is attached

So, my question: is there a way to retrieve (or view) my exploration data?

Short answer: No

It's a commonly suggested thing. People currently use out of game apps/websites to track progress.

I screen shot the system map for systems I want to remember.

I you do a lot of exploring you will quickly have your name on more things than you can keep track of

I also keep screenshots of systems I think are important, but also a pen and paper log. It's nice to open a book because the load time is seconds and doesn't shut down my UI.

I used an Excel Sheet to track this. Each system visited I tracked with following columns

FirstScanned Objects

FirstScanned System

Earthlike

Interest

50 systems per page instead of 20.

i sold some after latest patch but it was still doing 20 at a page...

Thanks for the replies guys. I can live with a missing registration system. But it's still weird. The game suggest we fly arround in super-high-tech spaceships while we have to write down our discoveries with a pencil on a piece of paper..

Well, if you are playing the game on a PC then you certainly don't have to write your discoveries down with pnp. There are any number of third party exploration tools, or if you're inclined you could write your own. Set up correctly the game writes every system you enter to a log file, so third party programs can harvest system names and provide a log of where you've been.

Captains Log is the app I use, allows you to track where you've been as well as what you've scanned to get an idea of how much you will get for the data.
