A way to see if you explored a system?

So, I've been exploring the Orion Nebula and am about to move to Barnard's loop, but I've been thinking..
Wouldn't it be useful to be able to see what systems you've already explored in the menu on the left?
I've pretty much just been jumping around the nebulas randomly to see what I can find, but I've been getting into more and more systems I've already explored.
So I thought it might be a good idea to have some sort of indicator to show whether or not a system has been explored.

Check the galaxy map before jumping in, explored systems will have the system data available.

No offense, but I don't think you read what I said..
I was talking about a way to see if it's explored by looking at the little screen on the left.

I use that screen for exploring the nebulas, cause I can just randomly jump around that way without knowing what's coming up.
But that also means I don't know if I've been there already.

I read and answered what you typed. More visuals for explored systems would be nice, as would an option to hide visited systems.

That's what I said, note the "On the left" thing ;)

It doesn't matter, I might have phrased it unclear, but I definitely said it.

I agree it would help. What I've been doing is lock on the closest system in the left screen then jump to galaxy view (via a key bind) to see if I've already been there. If I have then out of galaxy, back to left screen & repeat for next closest system. It works but it's unnecessarily time consuming when a simple indicator on the left screen would suffice.

I vaugley remember an option to allow you to display stations that have data to buy ... above the allegiance thing there is a drop down, I think it was in there.

I think having it in the nav tab would be pretty cool; kind of like just hopping in your car, going for a drive to nowhere in particular and seeing where you end up. If you have the range and a way to fuel it'd be a less cumbersome mechanic than waiting for the gal map (not that it's a huge issue).

Having a filter on the gal map would be quite handy too, but I'm not sure why we couldn't have both.
