So I'm new to ED, so forgive me if this was already brought up, but in the Galaxy map it kinda gets overwhelming sometimes trying to find a federation station rather than just primarily black market or something else. Though I'm not currently sure if the game operates this way yet. Are there borders for different reputations? If so and you go into lets say Pirate space or Black Market independent space is there a way to discern this in the galaxy map. If not I may have an idea on this, I was thinking of light colors based on the colors of the different reputations in the right hand HUD display. That way its easier for us as a community to know what primary reputation and stations we will be dealing with in a general galactic area. Also I would like to point out that I'm not saying that this information be given immediately but only as for what you as a pilot have explored or purchased charts for.

On the galaxy map, go to your third tab and you should see two buttons, one marked realistic, the other filtered or something like that. Select filtered and then use the dropdown to select allegiance. Then the galaxy map will display by the controlling factions alignment. You can then select/deselect different factions to filter which you can see.
Keep in mind that not all stations in a system will belong to the controlling faction.

No. It makes sense, applying different separate filters to view. Otherwise the screen could get very cluttered with icons and whatnot if it tried to display multiple data types at once.
