Here's my problem. I've just baited out a pirate and am engaged with them. Then next thing I know there are a load of federation ships appearing and interfering with my fight, usually by flying right in front of my lasers causing me to hit them and gain a bounty. Then a whole load more fed ships arrive and go after me because I'm now wanted, and as a result I'm forced to flee. It's so frustrating to deal with. Is there a way to stop them "helping" me like this or do I have to go to an anarchy system to hunt?

On your right screen you should turn off "Report Crimes Against Me". Now when someone shoots you the police will not be auto-called.
