A Wing vs Single Player. Is this fair?

I don't know whether this is cheating or actually part of the game.

I was in my Asp in supercruise and came across an Imperial Clipper with a 500K bounty on him.
Lovely I thought, so I interdicted him. We had a good battle for about a minute then two of his
buddies (Anaconda and another Clipper) both with huge bounties on their heads appear from nowhere
and I've got absolutely no chance.

I am just wondering is this part of the game or is it cheating? It seems a little unfair that when I pick
a fair fight with someone they can simply summon their buddies at will and take me out.

Your thoughts.....

It's the game. Open working as intended!. If they were in a wing and you attacked you were risking it. If not I guess you were unlucky

Why would it be cheating? They were pirates / murderers, and acted the part.

The game its not supposed to be fair. And actually it was you who decided to interdict a ship in a wing.

Sometimes we bite more than we can chew, and have to bug out. And the game is better for it.

Nothing about this scenario hints at any cheating.

You have no reason to expect a 'fair' fight unless you've gotten a credible assurance of one from your opponent and are in a location where interference is unlikely.

I think the range at which jumping to a beacon is allowed and the likelihood of lone players to be instanced with winged ones should be greatly reduced. Other than that it's okay for me. Fair? No - but such is life.

They could have been innocent bystanders helping their buddy who was waylaid by this indiscriminate killer for hire.

I've racked up some pretty outrageous bounties via nothing but self defense in the past. Someone interdicts me for some stop and scan nonsense, violating my rights to do whatever I damn well please and gets shot down for great justice. Then the 'bounty hunters', who are almost never up to task, descend on me like moths into the flame.

I wasn't aware that they were all in a wing. I just saw one 'WANTED' Clipper with a 500K bounty on their head.
It was pretty obvious though that the Clipper was in a wing when his friends appeared.

A bad decision on my part then. I shall have to be more careful in future :-/

My last PVP encounters were never 1v1, I always had to face a wing, usually with an anaconda jumping in after the first few shots. So I just ran.
I guess my opponents spent more time finding targets than actually fighting. I also suppose that our encounter was as frustrating for them as it was for me. But it's definitely the game. The CQC should provide a "fair" "alaQuake" pvp playground, but probably not immersive at all.

Should have been able to see they were in a wing on the left panel before you interdicted. Unless they winged up while you were fighting the clipper. Either way not cheating, need to be prepared to bite off more than you can chew if you're gonna interdict other players.

Welcome to open play, keep one eye on the radar, be ready to bug out at any time, this is Elite : Dangerous :D

They may also have followed into your low energy wake. I do it quite frequently in case there are any bounties I can poach.

Welcome to open PVP only wining counts,Fair means nothing,no second place winner, alls fair in love and war,you know the drill
