Greetings,
may I offer my .02 credits of advice.
Don't be in exernal cam view mode and don't switch off the UI (triangle on PS4) for a picture just before your ship exits supercruise automatically (and drops you out of cam mode as well).
You arrive at the station without any instruments.
You can hear the comms but cannot see (nor use) any instrument or menu (for requesting a dock permit for example).
A bit like switching off all the lights in your car at night while driving.
Was a nasty shock to consider a 18mill. rebuy at a distance of just 6km away from the target station. :-o
(Solution was to go back into camera mode and reenable UI, then leave cam mode properly.) But not before some adrenalin was used and a fruitless searching in the keybinding table for a nonexisting instrument light switch.)
The picture I made that for, arriving at McDonald Settlement in Alcor:
Regards, Dirk
PS: In case it's customary to introduce oneself with the first post (although I am lurking here since the beginning of the year): Played Elite on an Atari during my school time, lost contact with computer games after the Atari became obsolete. And now after having been gifted a PS4 last year, found a much evolved ED in the PS store this February which addicted me all over again.
