A6 Shield Cell Bank Availability Near LTT 874 / Emperor's Dawn CG?

I haven't found the need for these until recently as the CZ over at LTT 874 is proving to be dominated by Anacondas, Pythons and Clippers. I bought four of these SCBs at Parkinson, but the highest rated version I could find there was a C6. I just checked in at REGIR which is a high tech extraction system, but they didn't even sell the C6 there.

So... I thought I would pose the question to the community and specifically to SCB experts.

I am using two of my 6 grade cargo slots for two C6 SCBs, a C5 and a C4. I'm only powering one at a time since my A6 power plant can't run two at a time which is fine. I just power up one of them, and when that one is out of charges, I power up the next one in the line and so on.

Figured that the A6 version likely provides a few more charges over the 4 available from the C6 version, and running an A grade SCB in each of the four slots I have made available would give me more time before having to swap out another SCB during combat.

I know I can likely find what I am looking for at Altair or possibly Vega and other truly high tech systems, but I would prefer to get them from a system closer to LTT 874 and save me the extra travel time.

Thanks in advance for any input and system/station locations.

Cheers. :)

I would go for a b6 they hold mores charges, cost less and draw less power.

Edit, all b rated cell banks hold more charges.

Thanks for the tip! I will take your advice and look for a B6 SCB. Any suggestions for a likely system / station near LTT 874?

THe B rated stuff is usually quite a lot heavier though. 6A 40 tonnes, 6B 64 tonnes. Thats quite s substantial difference.
And although they hold more charges, each charge is less powerful. So the total charge available is not that different. You may get 30 - 50 mj more.( 6B will actually only give you 25 mj more).

Thanks guys!

I'm not concerned with the "B" grade weight issue in this particular situation since I am just hopping back and forth between Parkinson and the CZ. Only time it is going to matter is when I jump out to a system where I can buy the B6.

So Maddog... Are you saying that Nijiri or Melionit are the two closest sources to 874? I'm not in-game at the moment, so I can't check the travel distance out and back from 874. Depending on that, I might just stick with the two C6s and the C5 and C4 I have right now. Shuffling them in and out of the active load out hasn't been too terribly distracting during combat, although ultimately it would be nice to have the two 6 class slots filled with higher capacity SCBs.

Thanks again for the input! MUCH appreciated and REPS to everyone! :D

FYI, there is nothing of significance for outfitting in LTT 874.

Not entirely true. I found the C6 SCBs there while two of the local High Tech systems didn't sell anything higher than a D6. Its definitely not the greatest station for outfitting, but they actually have a better selection of higher grade modules than your typical station with a similar Galaxy Map description.

Believe it or not, when I returned to my home system of Herthans tonight to swap my Python for my Anaconda to work that new CG over in the Kaushpoos system, I did a quick check of the outfitting hangar and to my complete surprise, there was listed ALL of the "A" and "B" grade SCBs! Talk about a Face Palm moment! lol!

So... I swapped out the two C6 modules for B6s and also upgraded the 4 and 5 grade modules to "A" versions. Also upgraded my power plant to an A7 for good measure. Henry Vision has always served me well and the reason why I use it as a home base, but I seriously do not recall having this much high end stock there before.

Wondering if perhaps the inventory there has recently been upgraded?

Anyway... Wanted to pass this info along to anyone who is doing the 874 CG and is in need of the highest rated SCBs. Herthans is less than 16 Ly from LTT 874 and while the modules sell for full price, you have the complete line of SCBs there to choose from. :D

Thanks again for all the additional info on this module guys! It was a big help and I appreciate it!

Cheers. :D
