AaaarrrggghhhhhGGRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does Steam VR start every time with ED. ED actually looks for it, and if it sees it, launches it. Well guess what?

Get to ! I don't want Steam bloody crappy bugged out VR launching every time. I'm quite content with normal occulus runtimes thanks.

Anyone know how i can stop this overtakewe'lldecideforyouware?

Thank you.

Uninstall SteamVR? *sorry, being facetious*

Do you use Steam to launch ED?

I can use the standalone ED launcher (EDLaunch.exe, in the game folder), or launch it through Oculus Home. Neither sets SteamVR off for me.

Perhaps removing ED from your list of steam games will help? (My copy of Steam doesn't know about ED)

Could also try exiting Steam from the system panel (lower right near the clock) before loading ED.

I am starting to feel kind of bad for those of you with Vive playing ED. Seems like an awful lot of silly problems I just have not experienced my sympathy.

Oh, you're completely right.

Playing Elite while being totally immersed in VR is absolutely not worth the slight 10 second inconvenience of running EDLaunch as "EDLaunch.exe /novr" every once in awhile.

Open E: D launcher.
Kill any active Steam processes.
Run the game from the launcher.
You'll get the SteamVR status box open in the lower corner, close it.
Game on.
