Yes the pronghorn is statue (it's even labeled as such in the screenshot and it's gigantic), but I think this makes a strong argument that we will be seeing it in the game (certainly a stronger hint than for the sloth). While it is a unique choice in that it is very rarely exhibited in zoos, Frontier has already proven that don't care about that aspect of realism with strange selections, such as the Lesser Antillean Iguana. That being said the pronghorn is arguably the most unique North American animal and will make a great addition.
I mean... how is it unrealistic to have rare zoo animal in Planet zoo? Just because not many zoos have them? What if your zoo is supposed to be one of those few zoos that have those animals? There is nothing unrealistic about it, unlike lets say javan rhinoceros, which is in non zoos at all. Now that would be unrealistic.
I agree, we should have a mix between the usual/expected species (lion, zebra, boa constrictor) as well as a few rarer ones. But not TOO rare.
Zoo Tycoon 2 added animals like Javan rhino, mountain gorilla, narwhal and goblin shark, which I never used because of how unrealistic those are to have in your zoo.
The aardvark is somewhere between common and rare in captivity, so it's a great inclusion. Also because of it's uniqueness.
Pronghorns are not kept in European zoos, and I believe quite rare in the USA as well, but they are kept in a few collections so it's realistic enough to be added.

I believe the aardvark was in the zoo tycoon 2 African adventures expansion. Nice to see that they are using some of the animals in that games roster for the base game.
People were able to see just a tiny bit of the deleted PCGames article, and it does indeed mention Pronghorn!
I wonder if they broke some agreements with Frontier with this? Yes, article was taken down almost immediately, but still it got noticed by people and some manage to save piece of article.
As for me I don't feel spoiled at all, even if I really didn't expected pronghorns (I did tapirs) in the game. I love everything what I saw from Gamescom and I am super excited for the game so some earlier leak (if we can call it like that) definitelly won't ruin mine excitement for the game.

how will they deal with burrowing? will they implement burrowing? as aardvarks do burrow.
As a friendly reminder, concept art does not automatically mean it is confirmed or even evidence that it will be what you think it will be. Even when it is shown to the public. Those who were around when Planet Coaster was revealed should remember that a lot of the concept art never made it into the actual game. That's just how development/production works. So, please, don't blame the devs when what you saw as concept art doesn't make it into the final game
