Proposal Discussion Ability To Name Control Profiles for Inport/Export

FD could possibly look at allowing us to name our control profiles on saving with options to import or export them to other commanders. At the moment you can only save one setup as custom but maybe we may want several setups to play with or develop and share. To do this we have to copy the file from the game menu. Could this process be made a bit easier for us?

you can do this already, though not within the game

go to

C:\Users\Your_User_name\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

copy the deafult.binds

paste it into the same folder

rename it to yourprofilename.binds

then when you start ed go to your controls set-up "yourprofilename" will appear in the dropdown

You can go to the appdata/local/FrontierDevelopments/EliteDangerous/Options/Bindings folder and copy your Custom.binds, rename it and paste it back into that same folder.

From the options menu you can now choose your named control setup, customize it again and repeat the process; you can have as much control setups as you want afaik, and just send the .binds file to your friends if you want them to use it.
