Ability to scan USSs

The one part of the game I really hate are the USSs. It feels like the game decides what is in each one when you jump in - leading to tedious "fishing" for the "right" USS. What do people think of this?
- Ability to scan USS by targeting them
(at which point the game decides what's in the USS)
- The scan will give you information along the lines of "2 med, 3 small ships" or "wreckage + cargo canisters" etc; giving you some idea whether or not it may be of interest.
e.g. Let's say you take a Pirate Lord kill mission. Rather than spending 1/2 an hour flying around and hoping for the right USS, you just scan the USSs until you get "1 x Large ship." Maybe it will be a T9 wanting to buy tech, maybe it'll be the Anaconda you want to smoke.

They should scrap USS completely, and come up with a better idea; it feels entirely fabricated, to fit us into instances.

I tend to agree, initially they seem cool, like there are exciting things happening in the space around you, but then you soon realise they are randomly generated based on your speed/distance to appear. Really lost interest in them after that. Also the shear volumes of them, just adds to the lack of interest highlighting there is nothing special to see there.

I generally avoid missions now that have me searching USS due to the time frames vs rewards you get.

Happy for them to remain in some capacity but I do think they need a lot of lovin!

As I stated in a previous thread:

There are a lot of polarized issues on these forums: external view, fines for salvage, solo play, to name a few. USS are not one of them. They are universally disliked I think. We just argue about how drastically we need to change them. I've seen a number of threads pop up since the wings 1.2 announcment, and the feelings are well aligned (see above)

Even the hosts of Lave Radio were even complaining about USSs on the last episode (#59), and these are really invested fans of the game.
