Whilst there are certainly enough systems already in Elite dangerous to last us our entire life it would be amazing if we had access to another galaxy. It could help players understand where the thargoids have come from, why they have come and why they are so aggressive. It could also lead to access of new weapons, ships and new beautiful worth seeing sights. It could also add new things to mine and new stations to come.

Just because another galaxy could (99.9 recurring % not going to) be added doesn't mean the rest of the galaxy now wont be removed.
True but there really is no need or use for a whole new galaxy. It would in best case just be more of the exact same content we already have more of than we will ever explore. Make it uninhabited and we simply have more "out of the bubble" systems. It will still be the same kind of stars and planets.
I'd say no. Finish with this one first. We only have 99.999999999999999% of this one to finish.
BTW, one of the planets in one of these systems here in the Milky Way has a ship that crashed with an Intergalactic Drive on board. Find it and you'll have the drive you're looking for. Seriously. I heard that rumor on the interwebs so I know Frontier put it there for us to find.
