About rewards

These here are kind of confusing.

Unless otherwise stated each reward tier unlocks all lower bonuses.
£32 - Imperial Bounty Hunter: Have the option to start in an Imperial Colony with an Imperial Eagle Mk II Fighter with upgraded weapons and shields and 1,000 CR (randomised start system choice for multiplayer reasons).

£37 - Federal Trader: Have the option to start in a Federal border system with a basic Cobra Mk III loaded with cargo worth 1,000 CR and 1,000 CR in cash.(randomised system choice for multiplayer reasons).

£42 - Pirate: Have the option to start in an anarchic Frontier system with a stolen but upgraded Cobra Mk III and only 100 CR.(randomised system choice for multiplayer reasons).

lets say i pay £42 do i get all of these 3 ships and 2100 CR? are these ships only for single player then? or just the starting system?

just how does this work exactly?

I believe these will unlock different starting options (including in the online game), a bit like way back in FE2:

So if you pay £42, you'll get several mutually exclusive options like:

  • Standard - Sidewinder and 100 credits
  • Imperial Bounty Hunter - Imperial Eagle Mk II Fighter with upgraded weapons and shields and 1,000 CR
  • Federal Trader - Cobra Mk III loaded with cargo worth 1,000 CR and 1,000 CR
  • Pirate - stolen but upgraded Cobra Mk III and only 100 CR
You can presumably start a different commander with each option, but I don't think you'll be able to combine all the options in a single commander.

Yep. Almost certain they're only starting options. Some of them might give you a tiny headstart over the standard option, but you can't get too far ahead. No fleet building before the game has even begun.

Also, that pirate starting option actually looks tougher than the standard option...

I'd say they are definately starting positions, not characters per se. Depending on how you want to play they may (or may not!) bring an advantage to you…. not having seen exactly how the gaming is going to go, I'd assume you could probably start in one position and if/once you get killed try another and push your luck there...

i think they will just be starting positions for your character ... each time you start a new game you will be able to pick one of these options as a starting position .
