I am pretty thrilled to finally see an ongoing CG after so long!
Now, I am not familiar with the current mechanics (had an 8-year long break), although I did give a try to the FSS and DSS (with the probes) on my way back from a brain tree harvesting session.
What does count toward the progression of CG (the current numbers say 2,503,239/10,000,000)?
Is it just about system scans (whether you do an FSS or just the regular ping that makes this SUPER LOUD "THX" sound)? Then you get extra money for each body / signal source scanned via FSS or/and DSS?
Or, since the CG says "Data from the following planetary body types has been requested: -Rocky Ice -Rocky -Icy -Metal Rich -High Metal Content", it means that only these count? And if so, does it matter whether they are discovered via FSS or regular ping?
It says "with full FSS scans & planetary probing completions rewarded higher".
Is this specific to the CG, or just the way things work anyway?
Last but not least...is there a specific range for the data collected to count?
Like, within close range of the bubble (which would make sense for a Corporation survey initiative), or even data from the other side of the galaxy count (which would make absolutely no sense)?
