About the nice X52 replica in the cockpit

Do you know what is the better part of that?

The lack of the crappy wire who connects throttle and stick.

Yesterday I was entering in the station with a full cargo when my ship went in cool running mode... I didn't touch anything and I was :S as my hardpoints automatically turned ON. I was at 10m from the station and my Cobra started to fire against the wall.

Luckily I succeeded in running away from station and fighters but had to pay the bounty...

In 3200 Hotas' builders are smarter.

I think the reasons Saitek made them that way were:
  • Cost reduction - less electronics.
  • Many older games couldn't really handle more than one controller.
Pretty sure the connecting lead is a standard PS/2 lead though, so you should be able to get a longer one for £cheap from eBay or Amazon.

The cable is still working; it's the plug that is unstable... if you just touch it then it comes out...

And not only for me, but also some squadmates of mine. :(

Depending on your soldering skills, it would be simple enough to replace the PS/2 ports with RJ45 8p8 ports, then you could use network cables with locking clips.

The cockpit's stick looks nice, but I'm afraid I can't possibly consider the graphics to be at all realistic until I mouse-look down and see a great lump of a tabby cat curled up on my spacesuit legs.

Si

Also a thing to note if you are buying a replacement cable, make sure it is a male to male. Embarrassingly I made the mistake of not checking.
