about to lose 68 hours of gameplay

1: People telling you to "git gud"
2: People telling you this is how the game is supposed to be.
3: People telling you, in many more words, to be less casual.
4: Old salts telling stories of their many achievements in the '84 Elite and how much easier we have it today.

All those accords valid tho, but biased.

Really, I agree with you. They really need to listen to the fans and the general supporters. If people complain, game is alive. Or at least the community is alive.
But... FD still has their vision and I think they need to pursue it despite how people react to certain things. Things like I want endgame content. If Braben really dislikes the idea of having endgame content but still decides to implement endgame content just because the player base wants it. How good will that be in the end?
That's what I meant. :)
In a nutshell, until Braben and Sandro retire and enjoy fruits of their labors (of being able to recruit decent ui, audio and simulation teams and run company in general), game will not be enjoyable in the longterm.

Indeed, seems to be a problem lately that they are forgetting who the majority that invested and made this game possible in the first place and are listening far too much to a small minority.

Nice.

I knew this was going to be a right mess so I'm on extended vacation from the game as FD seem to not want my casual type to enjoy this game. Will check back when next expansion is on sale or if they get back to "play your own way".
The casual types are way too stressed?

I never used any tools to find top trading routes or cared for any ship builds that are discussed.

That'll be your problem, without making any effort to understand how other people are coping you're making it difficult for yourself.

An option to choose a beginner difficulty level in solo play would be totaly fine for me. I don't need a challange.
I have challanges enough in real life.

There is a beginner difficulty level, you simply reset your save. New starters are now given initial missions and a larger payout to get them started and the difficulty for low-ranks is marginally easier than pre-2.1. With what you now know I think you could regain your current position in far less than 68 hours, whilst being gradually exposed to the more difficult opponents as you rank up again.

Everyone faces real-life challenges, stop characterising more successful players as having an easy life and you will find such people are more likely to help you.

Keep a leg in there. FD have been working to get the threat balanced to our combat ranks. There are many groups out there that would be more than happy to get you sorted.

Good God nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I really feel like the high security systems should be relative "safe zones".
Interdictions should be very infrequent (because pirates know better), and if you are interdicted, the system security forces should be dropping in to help you in a matter of seconds.

Of course the downside to hanging out there might mean less trading or mission profit, but there's a price to pay for security. :)

This. I have no problem with the current NPCs but I think this is a great suggestion. There should be relatively safe havens, systems where you're not very likely to get pirated at all.

You are taking this out of context completely. What he is saying is that real life bring the issues of having to "grind" to survive and he as a casual gamer only wants to boot up, play and relax from that and does not want to spend a ton of time on how to cope with the currently unbalanced NPC's that even FD has acknowledged as problematic and will be addressing shortly. He isn't claiming anyone has an easier life than him, simply that he just wants to play his game peacefully without sacrificing real life responsibilities to research and "git gud".

OP'er, just hang in there. It may take a small break from the game to get your mindset back to enjoying it but I feel that the development team is working to address many of the issues posted on these forums including the ones you outlined. Enjoy your EuroTrucker for now and hope these things get ironed out for you soon!
